Cyclops-kin god, Nee'shoxx, anyone know where?

Post by garhkal »

So a while back, i found a list of gods for humanoids NOT included in the blue "Monster mythology", one of those gods being Nee-shox, the god for Cyclopskin. BUT i can't remember where that was, NOR if there was other info on him. like what his priests/shamans get, what their garb/weapons/armor allowance is, or even what their holy symbol is..
Anyone got a link or something, to point me in the right direction?

Well, I can confirm it is NOT in Legends and Lore. Do you remember if it was campaign specific?

Hmmm. Not appearing in Deities & Demigods, Legends & Lore (1E or 2E), Giantcraft, Faiths & Avatars, Powers & Pantheons, Demihuman Deities, or Monster Mythology or any of the monster manuals I've paged through.

Are you sure that name is right? I haven't seen anything even close.

I honestly can't remember where i got it from.

What i do remember, is i got the following info for them
Requirements Str 14 and Con 13. Any evil only.
Can only use pure melee weapons, and the standard cyclopskin spears.. Can't wear armor but can use magical protection devices. NO shields.
Granted powers
Spheres allowed.. And HP/HD/Level limits..

BUT where i got that info from, had NOTHING about it's symbol....

Guess i will just have to make one up.
Since they favor spears, and love sheep/goats, how's about a spear with a goat's head silhouette eating it?

I'm trying to think of another source to check, but I can't imagine where else that god would have appeared, unless it was in one of the Planescape supplements I don't have yet or haven't read as yet.

I've tried Google, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, etc. No luck on those either. Could it have been a Basic D&D source? Even so, it should come up somewhere on a search. :?

A spiked club? A mummified eye of a large monster?

I was thinking since cyclopskin love sheep AND spears (it is after all their favored weapon), possibly the Silhouette of a sheep's head on a spear?

Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2nd edition (1989-1999)
The cyclops appears first, as a type of giant-kin, in the Monstrous Compendium Volume Two (1989). The cyclops and cyclopskin then appear as types of giant in the Monstrous Manual (1993).

The cyclopes and lesser cyclopes appear in Legends & Lore (1990) for this edition.

The desert cyclops appears for the Al-Qadim campaign setting appeared in Al-Qadim: The Genie's Curse (1994).

The cyclopskin was detailed in Dragon #254 (December 1998), in the "Ecology of the Cyclopskin".
I'd try "Dragon #254" it's something I don't have but if it's detailing a race, perhaps that's where you seen in Gar ;)
