Arkuth (PW) - JOURNAL HELP GUIDE

Post by Cole »

So we can no longer fit the entire help guide into a journal in the game, so we are posting it here for those eager enough to find it.

HELP GUIDE

This server provides players with a vast spectrum of custom made scripts, systems and areas to explore. It is simply not possible to cover all aspects of the game within this journal entry. For help, please visit www.padnd.com and register on our official forums. Then proceed to the appropriate NWN forum to post your questions. Some of the basics are covered below;

JOBS IN ARKUTH:
====================================
There are a large variety of standard (non-adventuring jobs) at everyone's disposal to start your career's off safely. Everything from mining, to wood processing, from fishing to turkey hunting. Just look around town for work and you'll find it. Most players prefer to gain a few levels before setting off abroad.

MOUNTS IN ARKUTH:
====================================
We have attempted to make this world utmost realistic and mounts can be purchased or found readily. The starting town of Elspir offers a variety of horses one can purchase with realitive ease. A horse is highly recommended as Arkuth is a massive world, which includes over 750 + areas. There are other methods of travel available, but a horse or other custom mount is the preferred method of travel by most players. All mounts are restricted to surface / exterior areas only for realism.

AILMENTS IN ARKUTH:
====================================
There are several poisons, alcohols, drugs and other ailments within the realm that your character may encounter. Most of them wear off over time, however some of them will persist until cured. One of these is Lycanthropy. This occurs when a were-creature bites you and scores a specific type of hit on your PC. The ONLY cure is to find "Belladona", either a potion or a leaf and consume it during certain times of the month (full moons etc). These moons have been set to specific times of the month. Your only chance to cure yourself or others is on the 12th to 14th or 26 to 28th of the month, otherwise you'll simply get sick.

FOLLOWERS:
====================================
At 9th level and beyond each PC is able to attract a special type of henchmen known in PnP as a "Follower" for free. These followers are unique to your PC and are randomly generated. They act as your most loyal friends and will continue to adventure with you as long as your PC continues to play. Each log in they will re-join your side. NOTE; If they die, YOU are punished. Take good care of them to avoid this automatic penalty. Friends don't let friends die.

CHAT COMMANDS:
====================================
*These commands may be used to make macro buttons in your quickslots or executed within the chat bar.

LANGUAGES
*All languages can only be understood or spoken by characters that have either learned the language or speak it natively. IE; All elves speak elven. (half-elves do not).

CRAFTING IN ARKUTH:
====================================
Please quickslot and view your "Tradeskill Journal" for detailed info about our crafting system

MINING: To mine, one must have a Miners Pickaxe equipped. Once equipped, all that needs to be done is to find a Minaeble Rock and double click it. After the appropriate amount of damage is done to the rock, you will chip off a nugget. There is a small chance that the player will receive a second nugget while mining. There is also a very small chance that the player will find a mystery mineral. These minerals need to be washed at the Mineral Bath to discover their type. Miners Pickaxes will wear out from time to time and the Mineable Rocks will also dry up (disappear). The Mineable Rocks can be set to respawn after a configurable amount of time.
