Favorite map/tile set to use?

Post by garhkal »

For those who use miniatures, do you prefer to just use a standard chessex like map, and draw on it, or do you like dungeon tiles/dragon forge 3d tiles?

If you like the tiling, which type/manufacturer do you prefer?

I have a medium sized Chessex hex mat and the larger square battle mat. Love both! I'd really like to get that massive giant sized one they sell now, but it costs a pretty penny. I definitely need to upgrade to a larger sized mat due to the extensive size of some dungeon areas. The only problem with the Chessex mats is that red markers tend to stain if left on too long. Never seemed to have problems with any other color.

Never used the dungeon tiles, but I'd love to give them a try.

I know every time i have been in the guardtower store, i see those 'map/tile' packs Pathfinder puts out (some are 4x8 inches, some are standard 8.5x11 inches.

Are they worth it??
