Mapmaking software

Does anyone here know of a decent free mapmaking program?
I can do maps in Photoshop, but that takes a long time.

I use AutoRealm almost exclusively these days. Here's one I did only a few days ago...

Here's a couple of indoor ones I did. You can get some pleasing results if you don't want it to be overly fancy. Note that it's a Windows application, but I use it on my Linux workstation using Wine, and it's absolutely great.
