Dan Raisor - Author and "Closet" Gamer

Post by LadyWinterWolf »

In my local area we have an author, Dan Raisor, whose first dip into the "gaming realm" was a book called "Castles and Caverns".

His son, J D Raisor, wrote book 2 of the "Zeld and the Invaders" series.

In 2010, a board game, "Castles and Caverns" was introduced to the gaming world.

Dan and his family introduced his little town of Blanding, and San Juan County, to its first ever Renaissance Festival in 2013.

Looks interesting... I'll pass this along to a buddy of mine that is an avid fantasy reader. Might also make a good present for him ;)

I personally don't read books. Just manuals, dictionaries etc for me :)

I read the first book, but found it to be more geared towards tweens and younger. The daughter of a friend plays the game; she explained some of the concepts and...well...yeah, definitely meant for younger players. Think of it as preschool for DnD; when you're trying to get your little ones interested, but don't want to overwhelm them too quickly.
