What Edition/Version of D&D do you play?

Post by Cole »

Yeah, we've done polls and we've asked various people on other posts from time to time, but what I really want to keep a log of is WHAT DO YOU PLAY!

So if you frequent this site, please post here and let everyone know exactly what edition of Dungeons & Dragons you and your group (if any) play at your table.

Me, I'm well versed in 2E but I'd rather play it than DM it.

For DMing, it's Rules Cyclopedia Basic for me. That abd the Creatire Catalog(ue) is all I need to run a game.

Sticking to 3.5E, despite the upgrades. Recently, though, we've been playing some Runequest (3rd ed) and before that we did some Shadowrun.

Anyone played any 6D6 yet?

Once upon a time I would have said: 2nd Edition! Its the only one worth playing.... now...

2nd Ed (its what I know)

3.5 Ed (Blame Kafen) Plus a teeny bit of Pathfinder

Ive played many but as of today I am playing 4th ed. We have 8 in our group split between old school and new. So our current campaign is 4th ed. Malichi is actually running a old 2nd ed campaign for the newbies and converting it to 4th edition on the Wizards site. Bringing Dragon Mountain back to life for the newer generation. Its been fun and the new game modules cant compare in story line and visual aides that were in the box campaigns.

whatever you play, just enjoy it. :)

Indeed! I'm an external old school 1E guy... but even I have moved on to a 2E campaign world now.

As long as new players are playing D&D... I care not... just keep em playing RPG's rather then video games. They are killing peoples brains and they are to dumb to even realize it. I'm so happy I have a 16 year old at my table now... he's having a blast!

Started with 1e in the days before my Navy days, move on to 2e stayed there ever since.
My sons played 2e (one is 29, the other is 24) that's how I taught them basic math when they were little. They then went on to 3e. Now it seems a 3e clone as taken control of their minds, its the Pathfinder system.
Never was interested in 3e and its later descendants, just stuck with what I liked - 2e and I have been off and on since its creation (sometimes life takes over, and gaming must be put aside for a time). 2e is the edition I will stay with.
