I did not know that.Brightmantle wrote:The Rolling Stones- Cant you hear me knocking, 1971 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fa4HUiFJ6c
Yes, that is Carlos Santana playing on this track.

I'm reading a book called Nothing to Lose: the making of KISS 1972-'75. Here's a quote from the book by Paul Stanley relating to an A.C. concert he attended at Madison Square Garden. This was right at the beginning of KISS's career: "Seeing that show was stunning. I still remember him walking down those stairs when the show began with Hello Hooray and it was godlike. The crowd was just going crazy. Much like other things I saw that were great, I wanted to be that guy."

I've been a David Bowie fan since the 1980s. Hearing the song "Moonage Daydream" in Guardians of the Galaxy (the background music that played when Quill's shop entered Knowhere) prompted me to to dust off some of his old stuff and listen to it again. Since Bowie's passing earlier this week I've pretty much been listening to him non-stop.
Low, released in 1977, has been described as one of his best albums. Although it is somewhat uneven, bouncing between tight pop songs and complex moody instrumental passages, there are some real gems on it.

Re: The Great Classic Rock Thread
I was going to post something of his a couple days after the news broke, but every Youtube video of his, and I tried a bunch, was unavailable. I think it had something to do with so many people trying to view them at one time. RIP Mr. BowieStik wrote:I've been a David Bowie fan since the 1980s. Re: The Great Classic Rock Thread
I was listening to music at work the other night, using YouTube, and stumbled across the following video. It's an entire concert from Bowie's 1987 Glass Spider Tour.
Sure, it's a period piece - the costumes, choreography, heck, even the hairstyles, scream late 1980s. But at the same time, this video is a time capsule of Bowie at the top of his game - an true rock star being his outrageous self. I saw this concert at Giants Stadium in New Jersey in 1987, and enjoyed it so much I went to see it again when it came to Madison Square Garden a month later. Truly an amazing show.
Oh, and as a little bonus for you guitar lovers - playing lead guitar: Peter Frampton.
