Ok i'll break it down to a few things...first, don't connect the printer to your pc. They all come with SD cards or USB thumb drives for a reason....if your computer resets, updates, crashes then you lose your print. All my printers are 50 feet away from my PC, I put all of my files on my SD cards and just pop them in.

Next, most of my STL files are paid files but you can start with Thingiverse.com.

Evan Carothers - https://www.thingiverse.com/ecaroth/designs
Devon Jones - https://www.thingiverse.com/devonjones/designs
Miguel Zavala - https://www.thingiverse.com/mz4250/designs
Ryan Beasecker - https://www.thingiverse.com/curufin/designs

All 4 of them are awesome sources for free STLs. Evan Carothers also has numerous kickstarters. I have backed all of them and they are amazing for the price. I will post a link below. Ryan Beasecker and Evan Carothers have a storefront with their commercial STLs and kickstarters. Cannot go wrong with either. Miguel Zavala makes every monster from the monster manuals. Some of his designs have lower poly counts than some other designers but if you need something, he will have it.

The last one is Devon Jones. He makes Open Forge tiles which are free. I started with them back in the day. I don't use his tiles anymore but if you want free, its a starting point.

As for commercial I will give you a few but I have so many sources that it isn't even funny. First is Evan Carothers kickstarters which each follow a theme (Desert, Underdark, Seafaring, etc). There is a LOT you can get here and it's all great quality. I have EVERYTHING there except the space themed stuff.

You can find them at https://www.heroshoard.com/

Next up I will recommend Printable Scenery. Their stuff can be a bit pricey if you buy them individual but they have a couple kickstarters a year and they are also a great value. They always do add-ons that allow you to buy previous kickstarters for a good price. That would be the time to buy. Again, I have everything they have put out except for post apocalyptic and sci-fi.

For dungeon tiles I recommend Fat Dragon Games. Tom Tullis has some amazing dungeon, cavern, sewer, and city sets. All of my tiles are from Fat Dragon Games these days and on Drivethru RPG there are 3rd party developers that make community created sets called Dragonbite which are compatible. They have really expanding the available stuff by about 10 fold! He also have miniatures there and everything he mades it 100% support free! The skeletons that I posted above are all from FDG.

Another source that I love is Iain Lovecraft. He also puts out a couple kickstarters a year with some amazing themed stuff. He also lets you purchase older kickstarters as add-ons so keep an eye out for his next. I have most of his stuff also.

As you can tell, I have bought more stuff than I will ever be able to possibly print in my lifetime and none of this counts any of the Patreons that I back monthly. If you are ever looking for specifics or just something new I can point you to all kinds of creators. Just be careful because before you know it you will be like me with probably $1500 in kickstarter and patreon backing just for STLs. I love doing it though and now have 2 commercial licenses to print. My plan is to ramp up production and get my storefront going since I will be retired in 21 months. Have fun with it and let me know if you have questions.

Oh and one more is Tribes by My Mini Factory. Many creators have moved away from Patreon and switched to tribes. Same concept, you pay a small fee ($5-15 per month) and you get the minis or terrain that they create every month. The bonus with Tribes is that anything you get goes into your library forever where Patreon has no such service. With Patreon, if you don't download your files then you lose them. Here is a link....be warned it will be easy to get sucked in just checking out each creator.
