Re: Sold my 3rd Ed crap
1E Unearthed Arcana is the worst offender I think. I am not sure where it ended up but I had a UA that the spine was crap and the pages falling out. I have a really nice one now and I think I gave my beat up one to a friend. I have a 1E PHB that is separated from the cover but that is strictly due t...

Re: Sold my 3rd Ed crap
I haven't had a problem with my 2E PHBs (I have 3 of the original printings) but my original 2E DMG is the same as yours, pages falling out. At some point I will probably find another.

Re: Stuck at that editions crossroads.....still.
Well, I reached out to my oldest friends started D&D with me back around 12 years old. We all played together through college and only one of them has been in my adult group. None of them have played anything past 2E and none of them care to DM, so it's really my call. I have just about every ha...

Stuck at that editions crossroads.....still.
So a little backstory first. I started with Moldvay Basic, moved to 1E, then to 2E, and eventually settled with a 1E/2E hybrid that I played for 20 years. After a long break from gaming I decided to return to a 1E game as a player and quickly assumed the role of DM and back to 2E we went. After abou...

Re: G'day everyone!
Welcome Lyrwik. I am curious to see what you think of 5E. I read through 3.5E some and it seemed to add too much for me. I bought the core 4E books and absolutely hated it. It never felt like D&D at all to me. I have heard a lot of people say 5E has that "old school" feel to it but I h...

What other hobbies do you guys have?
Just like the topic says, what other hobbies do you guys have? I have been a PC gamer all my life but these days my main hobby has gone back to my childhood hobby, I collect and restore Arcade and Pinball machines. It also happens to be my side business since more of them end up going out my door th...

Re: Your favorite Setting
My favorite setting is Ravenloft but I am not such a huge fan of the whole demi-plane idea. I love gothic horror and think the setting fits well into any world. I am currently running my own homebrew world in a campaign we just began. It was a last minute decision for me to take over DMing for the g...

Re: What Edition/Version of D&D do you play?
I am a 1st and 2nd edition player. If I am running the game then I prefer to stick with 2nd edition although I never did get into any of the complete handbooks. I hated them in my teens...maybe in my advanced age (40) I will check them out again.

Re: The Great Classic Rock Thread
I'm late to the thread but my childhood and high school years were primarily occupied by 2 hobbies, D&D and playing guitar. So my 2 favorite bands, Led Zeppelin and Metallica, which have both been mentioned in this thread also happen to have a bit of D&D memories for me. While I love anythin...

Hail and well met!
I just joined the forums and thought I would properly introduce myself. I started playing D&D back around 1985 with the Mentzer Basic and Expert Rules that were given to me by a family member. I was 11 years old at the time and I was instantly hooked. I played a little with my younger brother an...
