The first season of The Boys was amazing. I can hardly wait for the second season.
The Amazon series of The Tick was very good, too. It really captured the feel of the original comics.

Re: Stik's Art - Calligraphy and Illumination
My big ticket item was the grail knights and the killer rabbit, which went for $80.
The piece that went for the highest price was this piece by another scribe, which went for $110.

The Pennsic War
My usual summer vacation has been canceled this year due to C-19, but I thought I'd share a photo of the event from a few years ago. This is an aerial view of the Pennsic War encampment. This image doesn't quite capture all of it. There are still some campsites beyond the bottom right corner of the ...

Re: Stik's Art - Calligraphy and Illumination
The art auction has ended. It brought in about $1,300. Of that, $220 was for the pieces I had done.

Re: Math/probability nerds chime in, please.
I'm a probability nerd, myself, but it has been so long since I've had to do the math/formula end of probabilities that I was dreading the process. So you, Lyrwick, have confirmed my suspicion that the the rolls will be higher. I guess now it becomes a question of strategy. A big part of the game is...

Math/probability nerds chime in, please.
Full disclosure, this is not D&D related, but it does relate to dice and probabilities. I've been playing a LOT of backgammon lately on my computer, and I got to thinking: would the game play slower or faster if instead of using 2d6 you switched to 2d4? I mean, obviously you're giving up the 5s ...

Re: Stik's Art - Calligraphy and Illumination
Just a note, it should either be Villaquemada or Villarquemado, to keep coherence between the genders, both would be odd surnames but they work as ancient Spanish I don't make up the names. I just make the scrolls. These are all awards (or most of them anyway) for people in one or the other of the ...

Re: Armored Combat
The nice thing about the SCA (at least around here, other areas may vary) is that if you are new, and want to try fighting, the local fighters are typically glad to provide loaner armor.

Re: Diversity changes
This discussion has gone very far off the rails. Words have power. That is a fact. Words shape thought (after all, we think in words), and shape conversation, and steer emotions. Words MATTER. That being said, my intention in the original post was to point out that Wizbro is making some narrative ch...

Re: Armored Combat
I'm in the States. I've known Andre Sinou (the Knight Fight guy) for about twenty-five years, and although I have seen the ACL stuff up close, there's no way I'm nuts enough to do it. SCA heavy combat (rattan weapons) is dangerous enough for me. No need to start bringing real weapons into the mix.

Armored Combat
I will start by saying that this is not the same type of armored combat that I do. These guys use heavier armor, and real (although unedged) steel weapons, and are much more gung-ho than I will ever be. But this is awesome to watch.
