ChaosImp mentions a character who is a "paladin/cleric." Although there is nothing in TETSNBN to prevent that, it doesn't sit right with me. As I've said before, the paladin is what the cleric was supposed to be. Had clerics been played the way they were originally intended, there would b...

We have had around two in the last 10-12 years, both played up to standard with no “fall from grace". The one now in Tomb of Abyssthor is a Paladin/Cleric and there has been a couple of close calls but other than that, the player has done really well with a class that’s tough to play. I am str...

3e removed the ability score requirements entirely, and allowed any race. Another reason why I dislike 3e... Those requirements were there to make them rare, an ideal to live up to... You had to be damn lucky to get one! 4e has taken it further by allowing Paladins to be of any alignment (although ...

How many Paladins have you ever known in your games?

Some recent posts got me thinking about Paladins... They the hardest class to qualify for, so they must be soooooo rare? So what are your experiences of them? I'm NOT talking about Pally Assasins or anything, real true horse riding, lance wielding Goody two shoes. Have you ever known one to fall fro...

Best way, just go for it!

If those players can't make it, they miss out on the XP and the fun, might be worth slightly adjusting the game based on how many PC's you expected to turn up, just in case.

Agreed, posting now has become one view against another.
I truly feel there are some issues that no one will agree on exactly what they mean, its all down to your particular view or moral stance.

Sorry Katten, but you sound very CN, bordering CE. To say she is possibly evil is well... I just can't see you can say that about someone you don't know, based on a few words. Firstly she's a friend of mine, so I'm bias, I haven't played in a game with her but she's told me the things she's done. I...

Hello I did read that about why it was started, so do get the background. I just thought it was really weird that someone would be evil, somewhere in the middle I understand but Evil? Aren't these people we play more than the common man? The common man would be slightly jaded he has a king or whate...

Alignment is subjective, even in 2ed it seems, I was thinking about Die Hard for some reason, that the actions performed by John McLane could (and are in the book) considered not that actions of a Hero, he does things that most "Good" people would consider well... "Evil". Certai...
