Re: MP3 music/We live in the future
Yeah - 42" should be okay - again when viewed form a given distance - somewhere from 10-14 feet I'd think. The whole process is very relative that way. And honestly even if you got a larger CRT tv it wouldn't look good at that size. I wouldn't get Plasma btw. Your DVD's are generally going to p...

Re: MP3 music/We live in the future
Love this post Halaster. You truly are an old fogey :D (said with the utmost affection, I promise). First - no DVD will look good blown up to that size. They just don't have the resolution. Anything larger than 40 inches is going to be a stretch. 36" is ideal for DVD's with a viewing distance o...

Re: How do you handle In-Game Politics?
That's what they get for flaunting a ton of money all over town . That tax was always there, but being broke they never had to interact with it, and never thought to ask. To be fair one of the guildmasters in the town also tried to get them to sign on with the merchant's guild. The guild would ...

NOPE. Lol.Did they know of the 50% tax before hand, or was that just dropped on them?

Re: How do you handle In-Game Politics?
For me it has been an interesting opportunity to force players (from both sides of the aisle) to confront their preconceptions. The most recent one was a newer player who was playing a Fighter/Mage. The party had gone on a quest to find a lost dwarven vault. They risked life and limb, fought Drow an...

Re: How do you handle In-Game Politics?
I think the politics is interesting, and I don't mind people bringing their politics. I meant more, how do you try to represent different political views?

How do you handle In-Game Politics?
So this post is going to be touchy - I'm sure. But this is purely about an IN-GAME concept. I want to know how you all handle politics in game? For instance, in my Homebrew world of Arcannan ( http://arcannan.wiki-site.com/index.php/Main_Page ) I have the "10 Kingdoms of Man" - as well as ...

Re: (OT) General rants
America has gone f*cking insane. Amen. Though it isn't just America. The whole world is going insane. And it is going to get worse, and worse, and worse until it all goes up in flames. History repeats itself. Happened to the Romans, the Maya, and the Chinese (several times, on account of "the ...

Re: Favorite Published Adventures Of All Time
It breaks my heart that I haven't had the chance to play many of these classics. In fact, aside from a few heavily modded ones, I haven't played any. I have some of the old books - and they are awesome. Of the ones I have read, "Against the Giants" was my favorite.

Re: Henchmen/Followers/Hirelings
Do you all think that the hirelings/henchmen/followers add enough to the game to be worth the headache? That is a lot of clerical work to keep up with - tracking names, stats, HP, etc. I find that if the party gains more than 1-2 followers per PC the sessions can get really bogged down. Half the tim...

Hi Cole. Physician of 7 years here. I treat PNA all the time. Check your temperature daily, if fever returns definitely see your doctor. Also be concerned if you develop worsening shortness of breath. Keep in mind that the damage done by the Pneumonia doesn't heal over night - even if the virus and/...

Re: PC dies. What does replacement come in at??
I didn't get it from anywhere. It has always happened that way organically in my campaign. Fighter followers are more likely to follow fighters. Acolytes follow priests. Apprentices follow wizards. Etc. Sure a wizard might hire a fighter to be the front line, etc. But generally the most prominent ac...

Re: PC dies. What does replacement come in at??
A point of order on Henchmen. Henchmen are generally (but not always) the same class as their PC - or at least they will have one of the classes represented by the PC. I generally start Henchmen off at a lower level, and then advance them forward at half of the XP that the characters earn (or less d...

Re: PC dies. What does replacement come in at??
I use the following system: Average Level of Party 1-10 - Character may enter at any level from 1 to X-1, where X is the lowest surviving PC. Ex: Paladin 6, Thief 8, Fighter 7. (avg 7). Fighter Dies. May re-enter anywhere from Level 1 to level 5. Average Level of Party 11-20 - Character may enter at...
