Re: Defeating the sleep spell.
I would tell the player I have no interest in helping to develop a character who would live their life (searching for, buying, caring for all of these animals) around preparing for a single spell. It is entirely metagaming.

Re: A Wild Star Wars discussion appeared!
There was definitely some good but also some bad in that trailer, but a lot of my opinion is based on the way I relate to the series in a D&D sort of way. I view the characters as a party. A lot of people didn't like the recent Star Wars movies, but this go-around that really begins with The For...

Re: Who uses 'gaming paper'?
I have used a few tools, and I have only started to use them in the past few years. In the old days it was whatever drawing I thought would be helpful to the characters. Most were pretty bare bones. I was given a chessex megamat (the 3'x4' mat you can clean off and reuse) by an aquantence. It is an ...

Re: Stopped by to get some ideas
We ran our 24 hour session last Saturday. My RP group raised $1100 and the overall event (the RP group, a team at another game store playing D&D and MTG, etc) raised over 2600. I may describe the beholder dungeon I made in another thread. It was a ton of fun. We appreciate TSD's contribution to ...

Re: Stopped by to get some ideas
I will for sure. It is for Extra Life, affiliated with Children's Miracle Network. I will ask for ideas through some of the other forum pages and I am currently churning through some old forums for traps, etc.

Stopped by to get some ideas
Hi, I found myself looking for some ideas for a 24 hour roleplaying session for charity I am going to run in a couple of weeks and thought I would check in instead of just dining and dashing. First time stopping in since 2012. Since last stop I have run some Star Wars Edge of the Empire, Shadowrun 5...

Let me share some random ideas first and then share some things that I have seen in the games I've played and DMed. An illusion can be quite a security blanket. Allow the king to go to an event but actually be at his villa far away (with a ring that hides his location, of course). Another option is ...

I'm going to go away from exactly what you are looking for, but hopefully there is something you can use. My cities, especially the demi-human cities, have focused on what makes the group famous and the encounters the party is likely to have there. The dwarves are known for war, smithing, and booze....

I would do it, but I have no qualifications outside of a couple of players who claim I can get it done in the DM spot. I warn anyone in advance, I am tough on any ideas that go my way, and the stories behind these creatures have got to be crisp if you want me to call you Beastmaster. Anyway, let me ...
