Nearest town most Sconnies might know would be Hayward or Rice Lake. And unfortunately the Hotel/Resort did...

Re: Check In Everyone!

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't been very active of late - lot of stuff going on in Tigerville, including (but not limited to): - Raising 3 kids (9yo, 6uo, 4yo) - Being a husband - Church - Working as a Hospitalist - Running a real estate business - Claiming to run (but really letting Marcus run) tw...

Re: A Wild Star Wars discussion appeared!

What wasn't consistent about it? That it wasn't used by the Rebels to blow up the Death Star. That it wasn't used by the Rebels to blow up the second Death Star. That it wasn't used by the Resistance to blow up the planet. That the Emperor needed a planet destroying weapon at all (why not just Hype...

Re: A Wild Star Wars discussion appeared!

I think there are valid points on both sides. The Last Jedi was both a good movie and a terrible movie at the same time. You could almost feel the parts that were from Rian Johnson and the parts that were demanded by the Studio. I actually felt bad for the guy - clearly the folks at Disney have an a...

Re: What Edition/Version of D&D do you play?

Wow - how have I note posted on here? Back when this thread started, like Jaded, my answer would have been all 2nd Edition. Now I still play in two 2nd Edition games - both very infrequently. But I DM 5th Edition on average 1.25 times per week, and play when I can find a one-timer group that fits my...

Re: Sup suckas

I will let Jaded fill you in on the details Meph but yes Halaster is no longer a part of the community. I'll admit that I too enjoyed the conversation from time to time - but one has to admit that he created conflict and was particularly vitriolic towards staff here. Most problematically was his ins...

Re: Sup suckas

Well either way it is good to see you. Both you and Thanatos are welcome re-additions to the community. I'll admit my participation isn't constant - but given the recent dust up I was afraid that activity would drop a bit. Halaster for as much as he was a blowhard, did stimulate a lot of conversatio...

Wow it has been a long time! I'm jealous you still have your old profile pic/icon. Mine was lost somewhere in the shuffle/updates. Welcome back to both of you.

Warhammer: Age of Sigmar

Just curious if anyone else in here played the new system? I love Games Workshop art and lore - have always used it as an inspiration for my homebrew campaigns. I am finally stepping up and getting into the hobby, was wondering what you all thought about it if you played.

Re: Hybrid 1E/5E Rules

they don't thematically fit but also they just don't fit in my idea of what D&D is I will say that you should consider Warlocks as NPC's. The Eldritch Powers/Lovecraftian Horror can fit well into just about any fantasy setting, and adds a really cool darker element. One of the great things abou...

Re: Hybrid 1E/5E Rules

Why did you axe Warlocks, Sorcerers, and Barbarians if all is balanced? I also axed Tieflings and Dragonborn. For Tieflings, Dragonborn, Warlocks and Sorcerors - the main reason was that they weren't thematic to my world, and I felt that they added nothing to the game. It wasn't a balance issue - I...

Re: Hybrid 1E/5E Rules

See I agree with you that 5E has a lot of balance in the classes, but they accomplished it by artificial means. They did nothing to make the wizard inherently any better, they just gave it options from other classes. I assume you're referencing combat cantrips - which you have discussed before. I c...

Re: Hybrid 1E/5E Rules

I would be interested in hearing how this plays out, but I worry about the balance compatibility. I believe that both systems are fundamentally balanced - but not at all int he same way. Wizards, in 2E are terrible before 5th level, but after 10th level reach powers unheard of and can out-strip the ...
