Re: Going Old-school
Hey Lukafio, I didnt know the 1st edition forum covered the BECMI stuff too. Also, is GAZ1 a good place to start on the lore? I've been watching a lot of lore videos on Mystara on Youtube from Mr. Welch, thats where I got the interest in Mystara. Also, Keep on the Borderlands should be a good starte...

Going Old-school
Greetings Humanoids and Masterminds, I know this is an Advanced Dungeons & Dragons site, but I figured some of you ancient terrors might be familiar with the subject at hand. I just recently purchased print-on-demand copies from drivethrurpg of the Rules Cyclopedia, DMR2 Creature Catalog, and GA...

Re: Math/probability nerds chime in, please.
So from what ove read, mind you I dont play a lot of backgammon, you are right about your chance to roll doubles. I've noticed though that changing the dice to d4 impacts a lot of the rules and strategies. It will be easier to move twice for sure because of the doubles, but you also reduce your bar ...

Let's just use percentiles and consult the gm charts. Cole, I rolled a 37. What happens?

Also to fight with a sword. Anyways glad to be back. The Marine Corps was a busy job and I never had ample time to f...

Re: Dice towers
Due to my understanding that some players find enjoyment through the tactile sensations of dice rolling, writing, miniatures, etc... I usually let players roll however they want. Usually. There has been one time where I had one player, that also played warhammer with, who could only roll his dice as...

Re: Armored Combat
I'm in the States. I've known Andre Sinou (the Knight Fight guy) for about twenty-five years, and although I have seen the ACL stuff up close, there's no way I'm nuts enough to do it. SCA heavy combat (rattan weapons) is dangerous enough for me. No need to start bringing real weapons into the mix. ...

History channel started posting all their episodes for free on YouTube for some of their fighter in a show called Knight Fight. Always fun to watch, but I'll stick to my Belegarth since it...

Re: Dice rolling,, towers, boxes or trays?
I just need to see the dice roll as a DM. I normally dont care how they are rolled. I did buy one of my players a dice tower though. Hes what our group have nicknamed as a "tosser" cause he just throws the dice. No rolling, no shaking in the hand, just throws over palm and it got pretty ba...
