Re: Arkuth-PW (Playing an UNDEAD PC)

So if the normally friendly factions are hostile, are there any sort of vendors for them to use? Or just whatever they can loot?

Also, probably too much work, but would be amusing for a dead PC to come back as a skeleton.

Re: Gaming and the vaccine..

I didn't dismiss anything. Look, why is being concerned over the vaccine so absurd here? I really don't understand. These vaccines did not follow the standard approval process, there's no long term clinical data, and we don't know what the implications of how mRNA vaccines work will be. It took a de...

Re: Gaming and the vaccine..

The vaccine is perfectly safe There's literally a database for reporting potential adverse reactions, and it's use has exploded since the roll out of vaccinations. We've seen AstraZeneca pulled from some countries, and Moderna restricted from being used on young adults due to concerns over the impa...

Re: Gaming and the vaccine..

I'm one of the unvaccinated. Early on, my thinking was simply....I'm low risk, I don't go out and socialize much, and I've never been a big early adopter of things, let alone medical treatments with abnormally fast development periods. Let's wait and see what happens. As time goes on, I become more ...

Re: Live action superhero, fantasy and sci fi shows

A Brit, a Frenchie, an American, and a Russian teaming up and beating a literal Nazi to death. While the Scot pukes in the background. The books are excessive in it's gore, sexuality, and degeneracy, I was hoping the live action adaptation would've been a more....toned down take on the story. Oh well.

Re: Live action superhero, fantasy and sci fi shows

2nd season is over, I loved it, but I am not comparing it with the source material, I haven't seen the source material but, couldn't it be that they are playing the long game to make the tv series align with the comics? Zero chance. Too many characters and events are different in varying degrees. W...

Re: Live action superhero, fantasy and sci fi shows

I couldn't stand the Boys Season 1. Didn't even bother with Season 2. I get that they couldn't do all the edgy stuff that Ennis had in the book, but at least try to follow the plot a little. I saw they had what seemed to be a fair take on Love Sausage, outline and all, only to learn it was a tentacl...

Re: Opinions on Premade Settings

For those of you who do steal from other settings, what kind of stuff to you steal? For me, it's maps. I rip off maps constantly, from just about everywhere. Not just modules, but even videogames. I once ran an entire dungeon from Skyrim. It's not that I can't draw maps; I mean, I can't draw them w...

Re: Opinions on Premade Settings

I am going to be honest - I am too lazy to learn all the history and lore of any given setting. I cherry pick the stuff I like, keep the maps and nations, and a little bit of the lore, and just run with it. Maps are the more tricky things, so using a settings map just for the purpose for a map is a...

Opinions on Premade Settings

Boring around here, time for discussions. Premade settings! You use them? How true to them do you try to be? (ie how much effort you put into being consistent with the setting?) I'm running three games right now. Two Pathfinder 2nd Ed games set in Eberron, and a Starfinder game. For the Eberron game...

Re: What's worse than drunk players? Yup

Pretty sure one of da lads I play with on Mondays is playing drunk. Or maybe he just a bit slow, 50/50. Also a bit angry and needlessly antagonistic. Oh well. But yes, once you've consumed any substance that impacts your behavior or cognitive abilities, you've transitioned from a group social activi...

Re: Campaign defining encounters

Pretty cool, and to be honest, I would be reluctant to kill normally animalistic creatures that had gain sentience as well. It makes me think of the comic, Legacy of Luther Strode. There's a point near the end of the story where he asks one of the villains "You know why I don't want to kill you...

Re: Thoughts on writing encounters, scenarios, and the such

I just let my game prep work load build up too much (I am running three different games, and playing in two others), is all. I usually read ahead (but not too far ahead), but this time, with things going on, eh, only ended up with the time to prep the stat blocks. As for modules, they're alright, yo...

Re: Thoughts on writing encounters, scenarios, and the such

Yeah, as I was reading it during the session, I was like....why the hell would you make the entrance be blocked by such a hard thing, if they NEED to get past it? At least have some downside to failing and just let the party progress.

Thoughts on writing encounters, scenarios, and the such

So as I'm trying to hype myself up to do some prep work for some of my games, I'd thought I'd bring up a little situation that I came across in a published adventure I was running. This was in a Starfinder AP book, for the record. Here's the situation. Party is a military squad on a planet in a syst...
