[OOC] Skagg'll opt to give the Priestess chase, so he'll risk getting hit by his very-not-alive scout friend. He just can't bring himself to wail on poor Tark! He'll focus his attacks on taking out the masked woman first.

Move into Melee w/ Priestess after Tark's attack against him.
1H Bastard Sword +1 Attack #1 vs. Masked Entity (THAC0 14, SPD 5) [1d20]=1 (EDIT: Oof!)
1H Bastard Sword +1 Attack #2 vs. Masked Entity (THAC0 14, SPD 5) [1d20]=17
1H Bastard Sword +1 Damage #1 vs. Masked Entity (THAC0 14, SPD 5) [1d8+4]=7+4=11
1H Bastard Sword +1 Damage #2 vs. Masked Entity (THAC0 14, SPD 5) [1d8+4]=5+4=9
[/OOC]

Adrenaline and fear were as much Skagg's bane as they were his bulwark, the solder's intrinsic drive for survival cushioning the retaliatory blow from the necromantic witch. Her voice flooded into his mind and her lips moved to match, its unsettling nature like an icy knife being driven into his mind, Skagg was too focused on his former compatriot brokenly moving to meet him. Tark was a shadow of himself now, the color in his eyes absent and a grim air moored itself to what remained of his mortal shell.

"Stay back, Tark!" demanded the Iuzian, his voice threatening and affirmative as he raised his sword in defense to strike down his risen comrade. "Don't make me do this."

Whatever threat the warrior promised, he couldn't do it. He couldn't bring himself to rain blows upon the man who'd come all this way with he and Coriss. Sucking air into his lungs sharply, the taste of the ominous mists rife on his tongue, Skagg withdrew his bid for conflict with the remnant of his friend and colleague.

"Maybe there's still a chance," he thought, locking his eye to Tark even as his friend poised himself - or whatever was left - for violence. Foolish optimism, perhaps, but it was all he could muster in the moment to stave off the growing desperation. "You'll have your peace, Tark. Coriss. I won't let you end this way."

It was a tactical gamble, but Skagg was willing to risk it. Whatever macabre charm this woman held over the children and his friends, perhaps with her fall they might be freed from her grip. Numbers were against him. It was both his best chance, and perhaps the only one that might still see his friends liberated from her unnatural grasp. And so he turned his trust to his armor and steadied himself for what was to come, determined to meet the villain's wrath with vengeance twofold. He'd struck hard once -- it was only a matter of time before the wench was slain!

[OOC] Yeah, the dice roller doesn’t like a lot of extra text with the rolls. I usually keep it simple in the macro and use more description in the post later like: “Character weapon atk,dmg [dice][dice2]” or “Char save, skill check [dice]” etc
[/OOC]

Skaggs words of warning fall on deafened ears as Tark shambles forwards, interposing himself clumsily between the Luzian and the priestess. Rather than strike at his erstwhile companion, the grizzled fighter moved to step around the stumbling semblance of his friend to pursue the orchestrator of all the horror before him. Tark’s fist catches him on the shoulder, doing little more than bring a sharp pain.

Rushing past, the Luzian leans into his swing with all of his might. In that moment, the priestess turns back to see him. Leaning back she dodges the blow, and as his sword meets nothing but air it slips from his fingers; clattering to the stones beside him. By the same token, her fist flails past harmlessly as she struggles to regain her balance.

The heads of all the children turn to him simultaneously, eerie red eyes glaring in the night. Behind, Tark shambles to catch up with his former ally. Feebly the controlled ranger grabs at Skagg in an effort to restrain him.

[Skagg’s sword is on the ground nearby to his left. He can focus on grabbing it and fighting in the same round, provoking 1 opportunity attack from each creature in range (currently the priestess and Tark) or he can take 1 round to get it safely without provoking additional attacks and only face their normal round of attacks.]
