Aside from Sir Karl and the Gypsy siblings everyone seems to be healthy, so the Mystaran uses her final two cures for the day on Pytor and Karl.

A watch is set and the party settles down to get some rest. The sky is clear, but the night moonless and dark save for the twinkling of stars. Throughout the evening each dreams of drifting through an overwhelming darkness, constantly stalked and watched by glowing eyes...

Dawn breaks damp in the late winter air, a deep chill has settled on the homestead and the low-lying mist permeates the area... the feeble efforts of daylight do little to combat the gloom.

MIra doesnt know that many spells.. I think the only she has of any use is invisibility that Jerry doesnt know.
I see her wanting to learn Dancing lights.

Lvl 1 spells: Armor, Comprehend Languages, Detect Magic, Magic Missle, Read Magic, Shield, Sleep
Lvl 2 spells: Deeppockets, Invisibility, Web

MIra wakes with the beginnings of a foul mood, the Nightmares were starting to take their toll as she talks to no one for the first few minutes, forcing herself to focus she sits crosslegged reading her spell book until she finally walks over to Tarlyn, placing a hand on her shoulder she sings softy..

"And I'll stand in front of you..I'll take the force of the blow, protection" The woman glows softly for a brief moment, "You should be safer now."

Then and only then does she fully dress.

(All the same spells but one MM was replaced with Armor for Tarlyn to keep her safe.)

"Thank you, Mira," Jerry says. "It doesn't have to be one-for-one. You may learn whatever you have time and inclination for."

Karl hurries to prepare a breakfast and ready them to leave, he will take the crown if no-one else will, trusting himself to keep it hidden, and keep it safe.

Tarlyn accepts the spell with some surprise. Only a few days past such things were the stuff of tales and songs... so strange to have ones eyes opened so abruptly... I wonder what father will even believe me.

If you can stand the company of the traveling people, Pytor, Artanis and I can escort you to your farm if you direct us. Adrastia offers. To Mira she turns as well, embracing the bard in a firm hug. I do not have the sight like Magda, but I believe we will meet again.

In the pantry Sir Karl finds a small collection of eggs and sets about preparing breakfast. Soon the smell of egg and bacon (a secret component in the most powerful of summoning spells) permeates the house.

"I wish you didn't have to go, but I know you do. Go safe and as a wise woman once told me: When all seems finished there will come a choice. The choice to go on or turn back... that choice will determine your true fate." Mira returns the hug, giving Artanis a small wave.

"You will be safe with them Tarlyn, maybe one day we will meet again. Just remember, people may not believe all you have seen, you know its real, we all do." She hugs the Young woman and sets to work dishing up the breakfast, giving the Knight a salute.

Karl returns the salute with a bow and ushers everyone to the table, his head low as he start to speak.

"May Kiri-Jolith provide us unity and strength. May he grant us courage so that we face the trails ahead with honor." When he is done he lifts his head and begins to eat.

After breakfast the Gypsy siblings, Artanis, Adran and Tarlyn say their goodbyes and head out.

Elsa releases a deep breath and scrubs a little moisture from her cheek. Never easy saying farewell to friends but... she hugs Mira's side, But I know we can handle anything ahead of us. Let's get this thing to Akriel and get home

Adran, Adrastia, Artanis, Pytor and Tarlyn have left

Merrick puts his arm around her shoulder. We have been through a lot with them. But as my cousin is wont to remind me, "Each does as thry must."

Elsa and the others pack up their gear and Fenrir sends Cross a message through the bond. The taste of rain is in the air, friend. If we fly today it is best to find a new roost soon...

"I really do need another spellbook!" says Jerry. "Perhaps when we get back to some sort of town around here?"

MIra watches the others leave, here eyes on the space where they once stood she would miss them, even Artanis who she argued with constantly, she gives Elsa a tight hug and lets her go.

"Come on, lets get moving." She didnt want to dwell on this moment, everything was just still too raw.

"They were good companions." Karl agrees as he checks Bayards saddle, "If we wish you make Haste, Pyros, Lady Elsa. Bayard would be happy to carry you on this task."

"You learnt them then? Good. I try to limit what I learn, these things are expensive." Mira answers Jeri

Elsa agrees and the group prepares to leave. The road from Jaconos' farm stretches north to Skald. Before long the clouds in the sky darken further, and the wind carries the scent of rain upon it. Few travelers can be seen in the distance, which is little surprise given the impending storm.

A couple of hours into the journey and precipitation has begun to drizzle and dampen cloaks. Thicker and blacker the storm clouds swell and the rain comes heavier by the hour. By the time the party eventually reaches the shattered outer walls from the old keep before Skald, a torrential downpour is in progress. The wind moans ominously through the broken stones, the occasional flash of lightning illuminating the storm-darkened afternoon.

The city walls proper, beyond the ruin, stand shut with no sign of life beyond. After several minutes of pounding on the gate, eventually the small window in the door opens. Weary eyes all but glare out before the small window snaps shut and the door is jerked open with a screech quickly drowned out by thunder. The guard in his sodden cloak ushers them inside before hastily closing the portal and returning to the shelter of his shack.

====
It is mid afternoon in Skald. The torrential rain has made all but the best cobbled streets borderline impassable. Where would the party like to go first?

Mira wants very much to find Sabrina she knew that returning that thing Karl had secreted in his pack first was a priority, they needed to find this Library...

"Umm, do we know where this Library is? Maybe we should go to the Inn first, and find out...?" She asks hopefully,
