"Very quiet, scouty types at the front. Noisy folks 100 yards back. Height isn't a factor," explains Linar who then heads out after Katten, not willing to continue standing still achieving nothing.

Jordek offers to stay with Noct and Bull as the other stealthy ones move ahead.

As Katten and Dran move on and examine the surroundings, they find some trace of human sized creature traffic... somewhere between 6 and 12 booted creatures...

After pointing them out to Linar, they seem to be heading directly for the hidden cave he knows of

He shares about the cave with Katten then offers to tak the lead and show the way in the interests of speed. "Can you estimate how recently these tracks were made? And by what type of creature? Human? Or..?"

[Human-sized. so could be orcs, humans, hobgoblins or other M sized creatures. This particular set of tracks probably in the last 2-3 days]

"They like Menn, More than ten, big booted feet.." She checks the way the ground is depressed, and how quickly the nearby earth takes to recover. "Before we came here. Not long." She answers his second question.

(Second check Simple [1d20]=8 Pass) In case she can glean anymore.

Checking around for additional clues to bolster her understanding of the tracks she finds one other set of prints... not traveling with the others but apparently following the first set of tracks. The step is careful, but clearly of a similar size. Rather than the heavy booted foot of an orc it seems some kind of leather wrap was used to cover the feet. But the weight of the track is clearly too heavy to be that of an elf, and not the style of an orc... perhaps a large muscular human?

"I think if we push it, we can catch up on the lone tracker before he or she catches up with the larger group," suggests Linar, obviously knowing the way to his previously-secret cave. "Katten, you ok to jog-walk-check tracks-repeat? We can cover a lot of ground that way."

(The 'follower' tracks are indeed fresher. Possibly today even. Linar would also probably note they are only a few hundred yards from the site, so catching up might not be feasible but not out of the question)

Linar hurries, keen to spot a potential ally while still above ground. But he needs Katten to make first contact due to his own visible heritage.

"Menn go this way following Greenskins. I know trail. Smell Greenskins before they see." And with that she breaks Imto a jog, pausing to check the trail for mere moments Dran at her side

Linar nods, looks back at the others and gestures for them to follow and keep up but a thumbs-up gesture to show that all is fine and they should maintain the same gap (about 100 yards behind). he then runs to catch up, but not overtake, Katten.

“Height isn’t a factor….” Findalsip eye rolls until he gets a little dizzy. He contemplates whistling or singing while he picks up the pace bringing up the rear of the column. He decides that would be a Dwarven thing to do and tries to be as stealthy as he can be while semi-jogging.

"You stay behind, squash tracks, no one see." She warns, even Dran stayed a short distance from her.

She listens intently along with sniffing the air.

Katten follows the tracks carefully, following the tracks and direction. She hears little aside from the normal sounds of nature. After several dozen yards she comes to an odd deviation in the ground, but shortly realizes what it is; A small, natural looking cave entrance mostly hidden by vegetation. The entrance is only a foot or so taller than her, and perhaps shoulder-width for a human.
