"Sir Knight, that may be your fathers sword but look, that band. Look with your eyes and not your heart." Placing a hand on the Knights armored shoulder The Bard speaks softly, far from the panicked young woman who fled the tower of bone.

If he continues to pull. Pyros will try and help some how.

He will also inquisitively check out the band of thorns either way.

Adran looked around the room for anything else that seems out of place on the ground, the ceiling, or on the walls.....

Pyros moves to help, but the Knight apparently hesitates, perhaps considering the Bard's words.

Adran looks around but the area looks as natural as the rest of the cave aside from the sword stabbed into the ground and the thorny circle around it

Jerry ventures, "Perhaps try pulling it out with a rope? Or a spike or graplling hook? So as to try to avoid touching hte thorny bracelet, I mean. No idea what it does! But in this place, it's likely to be harmful rather than the opposite."

Adran responded to Jerry Agreed, I have 50 feet of hemp rope if that will help....

Pyros will take an offered rope and start to work at tyng knots around the hilt. Dexterously avoiding the thorns.

[Jenara]

"You can't deny he has a good idea. I suggest you give him a hand, and reclaim your sword." Mira suggests as she releases Elsa's hand and surveys the room, drawing her crossbow.

[Jerrard]

"Indeed he does. Good thinking Master Pyros." Releasing his own grasp on the blade he assists the Kender, hoping that he understood knots.

Between them, they manage to tie the rope securely around the hilt, crossguard and exposed portion of the blade in such a way that it will neither pull free nor be cut. It occurs to them, however, that pulling to the side will not draw the weapon from the narrow crack and might damage the sword. The only apparently safe way would be to pull straight upwards. With the addition of the rope, up to three people could work together in an attempt to pull it free.

Who will be assisting Sir Karl?

Pyros spits on his hands, and starts to flex up. But then looks around.

"Uh, you guys should probably help." He looks at Artanis and Pytor.

Also loving the credit he will beam with a smile, but then realize it was Jerry's idea.
"While I love having an idea, it was Jerry's after all."

"Thank you, Pyros. Your heart's so big I don't see how it fits inside your body," Jerry replies. "Good luck!"
Holding onto Merrick's arm she keeps out of the way, well aware that she's neither hugely strong nor particularly nimble.

(I'm curious, is there anyway of attaching the rope to the celing or at least raising it higher?)

[ the ceiling is certainly low enough that, were a proper method to be devised, it could be attached with the length of rope in use. There is currently nothing present to attach it to on the roof]
