You Know What This Place is Missing?

Post by JadedDM »

Let me just check my list here...let's see...ah, yes.

Greyhawk? Check.
Forgotten Realms? Check.
Ravenloft? Check.

Hmmm...I feel like something is missing here. What do you all think?

We pretty much have Dragonlance IN Ravenloft. Kender, crazy elf mage, Bard, and a Knight of Solamnia.

Lol. Nah, it's fun torturing adventurers from a war-torn time in Toril's setting in new and horrifying ways :D

I think you mean Krynn? Toril is the setting from Forgotten Realms. :)

I voted for Planescape; interestingly enough, it's one of the first things I've encountered in all the ways you can play D&D as it's my colleague's favorite setting, and he invited me to play it one afternoon, when we finished working on an investment plan in some Munich real estate early; we had bought train tickets at 10 p.m. because we were afraid of the quantity of work we had to do, but were done by 2 p.m and he had all of his rulebooks, dice etc on him, invited me to play to kill the time, and that was my first step into the universe of Dungeons and Dragons.
Of course, that wasn't the simplest way to enter the community, but I still liked it very much... and here I am!

Dragonlance right now:

I wonder if I had specified it was for Taladas instead of Ansalon, if that would have made it better or worse? Ah, well.

Anyway, welcome to the site, Hind. So far it looks like I have enough votes for Spelljammer, but need 2 more for Planescape. So it might still happen.

As for the people who did vote Spelljammer, I can only make a poll once in a thread and I don't want to make a new thread for this, so I'll just informally ask:

How much knowledge of the setting of Spelljammer do you have?

1. I am quite versed in all things Spelljammer.
2. I know enough to get by.
3. I know a few things, but am no expert.
4. WTF is a 'spelljammer?'

#4

Vague recollection of Astral pirates, but wouldn't bet 5p on being right.

#3, but as far as free time goes I'm pretty well booked.
My alt vote (wishing I could vote twice) was for Planescape. Love the setting, never really got enough exposure to it.
Sigil the city of Doors is quite the fun setup

[Jaded, we all know you were secretly fishing for another Dragonlance game ;) ]

Ahh but Space Kender with a giant space hamster...
I ran a spelljammer game for years, Jenara was actually my main NPC for that game.
