Act 2, Scene 1: "A Flicker of Hope" (Main Game Thread)

The 2E AD&D Homebrew Sandbox world of Genwald is large, ancient, and magical. There are many undiscovered/untamed places. The Sun Kingdom (European style, Late Medieval Human NG Monarchy) is the basic Campaign area, but PCs can end up anywhere.

The scars of ancient battles of titanic proportions mark the land. Wild magic zones, fantastical terrain, grand adventure, political strife, and even artifacts of wonder await. Choose your part and come make your mark on the world. A wide array of unconventional races and classes are available.

The Elven cleric reaches his hand out and speaks a prayer. A golden glow envelops Katten's arm and the majority of her wounds close.

[the party had to wait a while for a worg patrol to come by so it is mid-afternoon now.]

Indendien scans the sky, About half way between high-sin and sundown.
The wild elves face the group. We thank you all for your help. You have brought back to us that which is most precious. I think this last encounter with the Worgs has shown we are no match for what is to come. We must warn our tribe, and find Earthaniel. He is almost as impulsive as someone else... she jests, nudging Dillosel. We will return in a few days, if the Great Archer wills it.
After the trio give their thanks and make their good-byes they pass into the forest

"I thank you." Katten inclines her head to Nocturno, speaking Elven.

Before they depart, she takes each by the hand, pulling them both in for a hug, her head squashed between each chest as she pulls them in tightly.

"Be safe and be well. May the Great Archer guide your hand." She kisses each in turn before releasing them and joining the group.

"We go kill." She annouces, her eyes darting to the departing Elves.

Findalsip waves to the departing elves shouting "Come back when you can stay longer!" he then turns to the rest of the group: "What was that someone said about a cave nearby? I am all about a cave I tell you."

Nocturno will bow to the departing elves.

"Till we meet again cousins." Feeling a bit out of place, mostly because this was the first time he called a wood elf 'cousin' without being sarcastic.

Regarding the crudely drawn portion of the map, the group might be able to make it most of the way through the forest towards the final Wetrock's lair by nightfall

Katten leads the group through the forest Westward. After a couple of hours they realize the map location was not painfully accurate, even by goblin standards. After searching around they find two possible entrances:

One appears to be an old bear den, but with signs of Worg scrapes, matted fur and scat all around. A likely entrance if potentially risky

The Second possibility lies where a wide creek from the west has carved into the earth over centuries where Katten finds evidence of goblin traffic (picture below)

"We make Camp near entrance, watch them." Katten states hoping the others will agree with her idea, "Watch in twos, I take middle watch." She doesnt choose watches, leaving the others to decide that, instead she finds a hidden place to make camp.

Closing this thread and locking. Next we will begin Act 2, Scene 2; which will hopefully be the finale for the Wetrock Goblins. Lots of loot this time around and some good xp resulting in no few level ups amid the group. Glad to welcome our two new players this chapter as well! ^_^ They have also discovered a major clue regarding the artifact they are collecting parts for. The journal of Rewalt Mythey will be absolutely instrumental in figuring out how to assemble the artifact and get it working. I'll try to get the opening post for the next Scene up some time tomorrow night if I can.

Group Rewards: [The total will be included in individual Awards posted on each character's private thread]

Milestones:
Defeat the Basilisk and Revive Dillosel = 150 xp ea
Discovered the Journal of Rewalt Mythey = 300 xp ea
New Party members 100 x 2 = 200 xp ea

[Worg 120 x6] = 720
=> 765 xp / 9 (Bullock, Dellinanth, Dillosel, Findalsip, Indendien, Jordek, Katten, Linar, Nocturno) = 85 xp ea (rounded up)

= 150+300+200+85 => 735 xp each!

Basilisk = 1400
=> 1400 xp / 7 (Bullock, Dellinanth, Jordek, Katten, Linar, Nocturno, Indendien) = 200 xp ea (rounded up)

Group reward Total: 935 xp

3+(6*3)+6 = 27 HD

Treasure found:
3,000 gp/ 6 = 500 gp each
4,370 (- 100 pearl -500 pearl) gp in gems/6 = 628gp 3sp 3cp loot wise
