The (Original!) Tomb of Horrors!!!
S1 by the great Gygax 1978. Everything adapted to 2e. This is NOT the Return to ToH written for 2e


Labyrinth of Madness!!! Previously Concluded (by TPK)
S6 by Monte Cook from 1995. Designed for 2e. IMHO this one is the tougher of the two, but not by much.

Zafron opens the door to reveal a large rectangular chamber, fully 40 ft x 60. An array of workbenches, shelves, counters and tables fill the space. Dusty vials, jars, cases and scrips clutter the furniture, and some of the tables bear rolls of linen wrappings or discarded scraps. Dried herbs of an unidentifiable nature, bones, skulls and the like litter the area. A hallway on the far corner leads out of the room

In addition to all of this, 3 large vats about 7 ft in diameter and 4 ft high have prominent placement in the centerline of the room; each containing a murky liquid. The First is full of a muddy brown liquid, the Second a murky green liquid, the Third is full of a grey liquid.

"Looks like a laboratory of sorts... Anyone want to smell the liquors?" Galan jokes, scratches his head and says aloud, "I don't recall anything in the riddle regarding brown, green and gray liquids, but it is sure interesting. Let's search the room for clues." and following his own advise he searches the room, specifically for scripts that may describe the content of the vats, or what may happen if they mix them.

Van will make his way in if he hears the description. Especially the word liquor.
He will then help in the search of any evidence of what the fluids are.

The group searches the shelves and finds all manner of tinctures, herbs, oils and philters; all of which seem to be aged beyond their usefullness. The types found, together with the wrappings and other accoutrement, make it clear this was once a mummy preparation area...

"If no one is planning to mummify anything I suggest we search the room for secret compartments or doors and if find nothing let's move on. Be ready to fight mummies." He adds with a wink and plays southern (Egyptian) tune.

Tabbi will be looking for secret doors. She will start with the south wall work around to the west, north and east walls as long as there is enough time to do so.

Zafron, will search the shelving.

[yeah the more people searching the faster it will go so long as you trust everyone's searching abilities ;) ]

Several members of the group begin searching the walls themselves. Tabbi takes the south, while Van searches West and Sorril the East. Meanwhile Elidyr ponders the large vats in the center. These seem to be the only things not dried up and blown away. he muses. After several minutes the search is complete, with no hidden exits found.
