Luka

Well Morak, One of those Damned Wood Elves, as You put it.

He winks at Isaril. And points to him.

Helped save your bacon, as well as all of the towns people and mine as well so you might want to drop the colorful words when you speak of them. Should probably thank him. They are a fine people, they just have different ways than you and I. Different does not always mean bad. Would you prefer more Goblin tribes to move in? You do realize the Wood Elves keep the goblins away, Right?

Well I am off to see how Destiny is doing and see if the Trader has gotten his shop put back together. I will return shortly to see what everyone is doing.

As everyone decides what we need to do next Val is willing to help the villagers repair any buildings requiring fixing.

"If you need any help with rebuilding your village I'm willing to provide a hand until we determine what we are doing next to help this situation."

OCC: do we or Isaril know where to find the wood elves?

Morak looks, at Luka, then Isaril, earthwards and then at isaril again. "Well, then, ya gotta point. Thanks. Right."

After announcing he's heading off to see Destiny, Luka heads off into the village. Isaril stares at Morak and then heads off to one of the drawbridge watchtowers.

While Unbar and Vic have still to announce their intent, Morak seems to pay little heed to the departure of the two elves. He addresses Val, "Well, big guy, ya could definitely help cleear rubble an' lift planks 'n' such for the rebuildin'. Startin' with th' bridge ta th' fort an' then the guard tower 'n' palisade. Some wood's good ta use but needs fetchin' from the lumber area. An' we be needing' ta more fell more trees for more wood after that. An' some patrols too. Ahhh need some huntin' fa food. An' someone needs ta tell th' Nandars in the big city what's goin' on. An the sylvans. Ya gonna talk to 'em?"

"Well Morak, I can do that. I will start with clearing all the rubble. After that I will help out with fetching wood from the lumber yard. I think Unbar is a better speaker then I am. He normally does the talking I'm the muscle."

Vic flexes his arms. He is definitely not going to be much help carrying and lifting.
He will go see Isaril.
"Some folks can't see the forest for the trees."
He shakes his head.
"It seems they intend to stay. Even without their leader. Should we try and discuss the future relationship with your people, and the town?"

Morak nods to Val, "Thanks. That'll be a big help. Fine. So where's your friend, Unbar?"

***

Vic finds Isaril in the tower. He has eight arrows laid out and seemds to be sharpening one of them. He remains impassive until asked a direct question, whne he puts down the arrow and answers, "Yes, Vic." His look is enough to say that is the reason for them being here.
"Establish their wants and what they will concede for it. The we will see 'my people'." He picks up and arow and skims it twice along his oiled sharpening stone. Without looking up he adds, "You do know we were not alone the whole time we were in the forest. That is where I went during our return. My people will listen when 'your people' have decided what they want to say. I will facilitate the meeting but must show my impartiality."

Vic smirks at the emphasis of the terms.

"Ok, I will see what I can find. After all I was sent here to help negotiate."

Vic will go to whoever seems to be taking the lead.

"If you have a few moments, I was originally sent here with my companions to help reach a peaceful agreement between the town and the Wood Elves."
Vic clears his throat.
"Clearly the town's situation has changed. But I am sure there can still be an agreement to reach."
Vic stretches, and rubs his head.
"I don't think they have any ill will, as they were apparently escorting us on our way back to town from the cave. If you can come up with a short term plan of what you will be doing. We can come up with some kind of plan to keep up the peace."

Unbar is still with Morak

"I'd avoid felling any trees for the moment. Let's focus on cleanup and repair what we can with material on hand. While what happened here is a tragedy, it also provides a pivot point for the future of this town." He proceeds slowly "Right now it's important to not provoke any forest elves that might be watching into providing a permanent solution to your dispute while the town is in this state. That being said an ideal solution will probably require both the elves and the townsfolk here to reevaluate how this town moves into the future. What you both were doing before this tragedy clearly wasn't working and both parties will need to be open minded to changes if this town is to recover and prosper." "You are correct though, the Nandars will need to be informed of what has happened here. I'd advise you to keep an open mind to what you may accomplish here in the future and perhaps help in guiding that future before bringing the Nandars in to make decisions."

When Vic reaches Morak he sees that Unbar, previously just out of sight round the corner of the inn, is talking to him.

Minor retcon above now that Unbar's player has surfaced. :)

Morak considers for perhaps three score heartbeats before scratching his his and nodding. "I think ye have the right o' it, Master Unbar. We've no' enough tinder to complete the rebuildin' though. We have some just out into the forest on the west bank. We'd need help, guardin' really, to get that into here. But for sure th' place'll be needing' more lumber cutting'. An' then theres's th' trade o' th' Nadars too. They be needin' lumber for their buildin' business. Bridges 'n' houses 'n' whatever. but yer right. talkin's better 'n' all the killin'. An' I'd like to be off ta find the black stone."

Vic catches the very back end of Morak's response and then clears his throat and offers his pitch. After Unbar's persuasion Morak is preety receptive. "Hearin' all this makes me glad you folks came." he nod, beards and braid abobbing. "Fair words. If ya kin set up a meetin', that'd be fer the good. You folks'll be representin' us, right? Too much blood spilt fer us ta meet 'em face ta face as yet. I'm guessin' we need the cut timber an' another three mature trees, or four times that fer more young 'ns."

"Please, no new logging. At least for the next couple days. We will setup the meeting and represent the town. Do you have anything you need brought up? Or anything you would like to offer?"

Morak folds him arms, one hand fillding with his beards. "Well, get th' meetin' done soon and yep, I kin sell that. Help us get th' timber in. That'll keep us for three days maybe. Well, we'll be needin' timber an' that needs lumber. What'll they be wantin'? What'll they be givin'?" With a grimace he adds, "Maybe we can give 'em some coins. Or maybe plant some bushes or baby trees or somethin'?"
