Haahqae lands a well placed strike on the dragon of the sort that should kill anything. Or at least any baaz, not so sure about a monster of this caliber. And… his weapon bounced off its scales like a dull wooden sword trying to cut through armor.

Maybe you need a magical weapon to hurt a thing of this size and power. Haahqae contemplates as he takes a step back and scans his surroundings, looking for anything that might be useful for fight or flight against this beast.

Frustrated with Magnus luck to avoid any spell he had cast, Tulbas tries to anger the dragon as he also takes cover from immediate attack by it. "Lighting bolt!? Magnus is not fooling around! You let this maggot scratch you? His disrespect to you and your kind deserve punishment!"

Magnus and Tulbus both attack each other at the same time. "I've had enough of your idiocy, boy! I'll kill you myself!" Magnus reaches for Tulbus, grabbing hold of his neck and using a spell, draining some of his life out of him, which in turns heals Magnus. Tulbus, at the same time, unleashes a cone of flame from his fingers, burning Magnus badly.

Meanwhile, the others, save Gobax and Haahqae, continue attacking Inferno. Amazingly, Miriam and Kendra both manage to get cut through the ancient dragon's scales and draw blood, largely in thanks to the blessing William invoked from Paladine. The others do not have so much luck.

Gobax manages to lift the overwhelming fear on Miriam and Haahqae with Sirrion's help. And Haahqae looks around for a magical weapon that just happens to be sitting nearby. Wait, is that one of the legendary dragonlances in the rubble, gleaming in the moonlight? No, upon closer inspection, it's just a pipe.

Inferno, meanwhile, continues his assault on Kendra, Pen and Miriam, clawing and slashing at the first two and biting at the latter. Miriam manages to keep the dragon's teeth at bay with her shield, but Kendra is left in bad shape. "I BLAME YOU BOTH!" Inferno roars at the bickering mages, and he lets loose a blast of impossibly hot fire from his mouth, engulfing both black mages. The heat of the fire is so intense, it immediately consumes them both, leaving nothing but ash and blackened skeletons behind.

Despite how badly wounded she is, Kendra continues her onslaught on the dragon even though now their only hope of help has been engulfed in flames.

[Haahque]

Haahqae briefly considers if hitting the dragon with a pipe was going to be more effective then using his remaining flimsy swords that he doesn't know how to use all that well; and eventually decides that the major difficulty he's having is in penetrating the dragon's hard scales. In this; he draws on his knowledge of dragons to try and figure out if there's a way to harm them without their scales protecting them; and decides that his best bet is to aim for the dragon's eyes. It's a small target, but if the dragon is fighting it'll want to see; and if it wants to see, it's eyes won't be scaled with impenetrable hide. And maybe if he manages to hit; he might even cause some serious damage to the dragon's fighting ability; a real contribution to the fight.

It's pretty clear that using a pipe is not going to help him hit the dragon in the eye; he'll either have to climb the thing or use a ranged weapon. And climbing it while it's fighting seems likea dumb idea. Staying as far away from the beast as possible sounds a lot smarter.

(Move to the farthest place away from the dragon haahqae can get to in one round that can see the dragon's eyes. Then shoot an arrow; called shot at the eyes).

Kendra manages to get another hit on the dragon, weakening it further. Nobody else has any luck. Meanwhile, William heals Kendra and Gobax heals Miriam. Haahqae tries to shoot the dragon in the eye, but he blinks at the last second and the arrow bounces off harmlessly from his eyelid.

Angered and injured, the dragon starts flapping his wings. "ENOUGH OF THIS!" He takes to the air, climbing skyward about a hundred and fifty feet. "YOU'LL BE EASY TO PICK OFF FROM ABOVE!"

Everyone spread out so he cant attack us all at once! Gobax says, suiting his own words.

The goblin rushes over to where Tulbas and Magnus were burnt to ashes. Sifting through the sooty remains he mutters a small prayer for the soul of his friend. Tulbas, may your spirit shine in the light of Sirrion's eternal fire. You were a passionate man, and though you were momentarily led astray by the darkness; I know you only did so to avenge your family. Such fiery dedication is worthy of Sirrion's grace... at least in my humble eyes. Please forgive me for this indignity, but if you or Magnus had anything that can stop this creature... i know you'd understand.

The goblin searches for any magical item that might have survived the dragon-fire which he or a ally could turn against the great monstrosity

Kendra watches as the dragon flies up into the air. While she does have a bow, she knows the chances of actually hitting him from way up there are a little more slim than when she was attacking him with her swords. She considers her options for a few moments, and then suddenly reaches out to grab William in which she drags him to where she thinks she might be a little safer from the dragon. She then uses her body to shield William from whatever might be coming. "I've seen Him once, you know. Or I think I did," she says quietly as she covers him from harm. "The chances of Him coming here to help us are slim, and He certainly won't help me. I can try to save you though."

In his last moment, feeling the inferno coming, Tulbas holds Magnus cloak firmly and with a wicked smile saying loud enough for Magnus to hear, "For Raetmal!" and he has some peace in his heart seeing his worst enemy dies with him.

Haahqae is, on principle, not a fan of burning down cities. Especially when he happens to be in said city. With the dragon taking to the air; it's not an easy target, but Haahqae has been known to make some difficult shots before.

There's a number of spots on the dragon's belly and hide where Kendra and others have opened up wounds of varying sizes. Haahqae takes careful aim at the largest of these wounds and tries to land an arrow in the very center of it. If he misses; he'll line up another shot.

The dragon taking to the air means that it's concerned about its wounds, so perhaps if Haahqae is lucky enough to get an arrow to stick; he can throw a wrench in the dragon's plans.

When Kendra moves in to protect William, he goes ahead and casts another healing spell on her. "There, that's the last of my healing," he admits. "Let's hope it's enough."

Haahqae, Fiona and Pen all shoot or sling at the dragon overhead, to no avail. Miriam and Kendra, with no ranged weaponry, can do little. Meanwhile, Gobax sifts through the remains of the two Black Robed mages to see what he can find, in hopes one of them was carrying something that could help defeat the dragon. Of course, it occurs to the goblin that if they were, they probably would have used it. But in any case, he finds a ring and dagger on Tulbus and a ring, brooch, bracers, and dagger on Magnus. These items are surely magical, as they are the only equipment to have survived the blast. However, Gobax has little knowledge of the arcane and so is uncertain what any of these items actually do.

The dragon, hovering above, actually starts to chant a spell. Five magical missiles erupt from his mouth, and each one hits a different person--Haahqae, Fiona, Pen, Kendra and Miriam.
