CH. 15 - Before the Dawn

This 2E Dragonlance game is set in the city of Haven, during the War of the Lance. Haven is a city undergoing great upheaval. First massive numbers of refugees pour in, then the city is conquered by a draconic army. Can our heroes survive under this dark occupation?

Grubnick nods along with William's plan. To Shima he says, I'll see if i can do something about your curse when we get to safety...

Having answered the "what" questions, Shima ignores the "why" questions. Any words from him won't alter what people have already decided they know.
He bows to the goblin,"Thank you, friend!" and then follows the smaller fellow.

Kendra is pulled to her feet, but she decides to remain quiet at this point. It seems as if they were going to go through with their stupid plan, so there really wasn't anything she could say or do to make them change their minds.

After a good half hour of walking through the maze-like tunnels of the sewers, William leads them to a small room with a reinforced door and lock on it. Between the nine of them, it's a tight fit, but there is barely enough room for everyone inside. William uses his key to get them in, and then locks it behind them. There are a few bedrolls piled in the corner, as well as a stash of dry rations and some bottles of clean water.

"It's not much, but it's a safe place until we rest a bit," William says. "I suggest we make our attack after curfew, under cover of darkness, anyway."

Tulbas waits politely until all set up and finds a corner to get some rest.

I hope you've more divine assistance left to you for today than i have. Grubnick says to William. I've spent nearly every boon I'm able already. I would need to reat before i could handle much more. I realize time is short, but at this point i'll be little more than just another mace... actually, i don't even have a mace...

Kendra looks over the small room before she plops down in some corner, as it seems she isn't going anywhere for awhile.

William raises a brow. "What's this about a curse? On the dwarf, you say?"

Yeah, a severe curse for not killing Arulia's sister... I'm hoping I can do something about it. It would require one of the most powerful spells my patron allows me, but i think it might work...

"What is the nature of this curse, and how was it delivered?" William asks. "For that matter, why would someone curse him for not killing someone?"

You'll have to ask him for those kinds of details. All i know is the little he told me; which is basically what i've told you.

"He seems pretty tight-lipped on the whole thing," William notes. "Removing a curse isn't easy, but if you think you can do it and that it will benefit the mission, then I'll leave you to it."
