[So an ability score check would be d20 aiming for your ability score or lower. Wis -4 for jordek would be 18(wis) -4 = 14 or lower to pass. Your bare d20 was a 3, so he easily passed]

Jordek quickly scampers up a nearby tree, soon joined by Chitt. Scanning the area nearby, he manages to spot a dark robed figure on the opposite bank beneath the shade of a tree! The figure watches the Dryad closely, seemingly oblivious to Jordek.

The smaller skeletons rush forward, two of them reaching and attacking the Dryad before Nocturno can close the distance. The bony little abominations claw frantically at her, but the elvosj-looking woman gracefully evades their efforts. The Dryad retaliates by slashing at the larger of the creatures, the undead wolf. Her dagger finds its target, but skitters across the weathered bones leaving hardly a mark. She spares a bare glance for Nocturno as he and Elden rushes up. I never thought anyone would be near enough to hear me, but i'm glad you came. She says, still keeping her concentration on the wolf.

Elden sprints forward, executing a powerful kick that shatters the wolf's hind leg!

Raising the holy symbol of Lathander high, Nocturno calls put i a compelling voice as a bright light issues from the precious metal. "You foul abominations! Leave this place! Be gone from existence!"
the smaller skeletons recoil from the light in uncontrolable aversion, the nearer two cringing as they turn to go, the two not yet approached whirling about to flee back into the river! Only the large wolf-skeleton seems unaffected!

An arrow rips through the air between Nocturno and the Dryad, imbedding itself deep in the wolf's skull; producing both a narrow crack and a loud THOK!

If the dark robed figure is within range (80 yards) Jordek will cast entangle on that area and call out to direct Indendien's attention to the figure. If not in range for the spell Jordek will move to get as close as he can while attempting to direct Indendien's attention toward the figure.

[The far bank is over 90 yards, so even from the water's edge Jordek would be out of range]

Turning from the holy light, the otter skeleton begins to scurry away. The Dryad takes the opportunity to slash at it, making contact but doing little damage. As the small abomination scuttles past Elden, the amped-up martial artist executes a quick shuffle-step and stomps the bundle of bones flat onto the hard stony shore where it lies still. Asani returns her concentration to the larger wolf, driving her dagger down hard into the wide crack forming in its skull. Like a steel wedge driven into a log, the dagger splits the bony pate with a loud CRACK, dropping the undead creature like a stone.

With no other foes in range, the human takes a swing at the beaver skeleton still turning to flee, though he misjudges the direction. Nocturno slashes at the thing, but the small creature proves nimbler than anticipated. Asani strikes as well, barely making contact with her dagger. Elden spins and executes a clean side-kick to the final fleeing skeleton, snapping it’s spine with the side of his foot. The human dances back and forth on the balls of his feet looking for more foes. Was that it?... aren’t there any more? he asks, seemingly disappointed.

Jordek scampers back down the tree and rushes towards the water, pointing off at something and calling out. A moment later Indendien appears at the edge of the tree-line near the others, bow already half-drawn as she clears the brush. Fletching fly to cheek and the shaft streaks through the air as it sails far across the river. The arrow strikes the bole of a large tree, and for a brief moment the others see a man-sized figure in dark robes peering at them from beside it. As the shot lands, the figure ducks back behind the cover.

[Combat Ends?]
[The robed figure is roughly 120 yards away from Indendien, and about 100 yards from the water on the party side of the river. It is currently out of view now, presumably behind cover]

Nocturno will scan the opposite shore.

"That must be an evil cleric.... these poor animals rest was disturbed for their nefarious purpose..."

He will sigh. "I don't think we will be getting at him immediately. Are you in need of a cure?" he will look to the Dryad.

As the figure ducks behind cover Jordek intensely peers at the foliage. He will attempt to mark in his mind the exact position of the tree Indendien hit with her arrow for future attempts at tracking if the figure does not appear again. On a side note if anyone is close to him they will hear him growling softly under his breath as he calms himself.

The Dryad glares across the river briefly, before Nocturno's question brings her attention back. With a sad sigh, she looks at the broken skeletons around her. No, I am unharmed. I thank you for your aid.

Elden looks the Dryad over with a wide grin and stretches surreptitiously. Oh, that's alright. Just a little light exercise. he says, trying to play it casual.

Asani turns her attention towards Nocturno, a smirk of slight amusement crosses her features as she turns away from the human. An appraising look comes over her, and the high elf suddenly recalls the warning about dryads sometimes 'borrowing' men for a while. It was so fortunate you came along. she says warmly, that considering look in her eye. Tell me, what fortune brought you and your friends to me at such an opportune time? she asks. I get so few visitors.

Jordek stares at the tree and surrounding area, no sigb of the robed figure. He watches until he is sure he can relocate the tree another time; which shouldnt be too challenging with the arrow still in it. Indindien watches as well, bow half-drawn.

Not used to that kind of scrutiny, Uhm er uh, We were here with this!" he will produce the acorn. "And a message about this new impending goblin-kind threat.'

(He will go over it in detail if she let's him, or he will just briefly tell her.)

Her almond-hued eyes light up as she lays her hands gently on his to accept the acorn, letting the touch linger a moment. Ah, at last! The guardian seed! she smiles broadly at him. And whom do i have to thank for bringing this to me? You have a name, do you not?

Indendien speaks to Jordek, We should be able to track him if we can cross. The current does not seem so strong here...

"Nocturno of Misan." he will straighten up.

"Ataya sent me with the acorn, and the news of the emerging threat."

"Do you know if there is an easier spot to cross? We may be able to track that figure if we get across the water."

Jordek looks back at Nocturno engaging with the dryad and replies to Indendien "I am up for it if you are, though maybe we should give him a moment. The human will be better than me in combat as well though I should be able to make any attempt to flee difficult if I can get within range"

Asani smiles and nods, Of course. Is she well? I sent word for one of these. They only come from a very special place deep in the forests where things older than the ken of men and elves dwell. [she lets him give her the brief version about the goblins]

Asani points out a shallow area where the water can be forded West. In fact, the group sees the fleeing skeletal animals emrrge from the water on the other side and retreat into the brush.

Indendien nods, ready to cross if the others wish to. Elden seems preoccupied staring at the Dryad who affects not to notice.

"She is well, Katten seems to be keeping that general area safe, for now." He will turn to Elden.

"Hey, fellow." He will clap Elden on the back. Then walk to the place the Dryad pointed out. Waiting to see if others will join him to cross.

Katten? I do not think that i know that name. she muses.

Elden jumps a little as Nocturno starts him from his daydreaming. Oh, yeah sure! Let's get him!

Indendien takes a shot at one of the skeletal animals emerging on the far side, striking it squarely in the back and destroying it. Now we can find our place on the far bank more easily. she says calmly.

If the river is not running to swiftly in this location Jordek will walk down the bank a distance so that he can use the current to his advantage when swimming across. With a glance over his shoulder at the others to make sure they are coming he enters the river.
