Act 1, Scene 1: "Through the Undergrowth" (Main Game Thread)

The 2E AD&D Homebrew Sandbox world of Genwald is large, ancient, and magical. There are many undiscovered/untamed places. The Sun Kingdom (European style, Late Medieval Human NG Monarchy) is the basic Campaign area, but PCs can end up anywhere.

The scars of ancient battles of titanic proportions mark the land. Wild magic zones, fantastical terrain, grand adventure, political strife, and even artifacts of wonder await. Choose your part and come make your mark on the world. A wide array of unconventional races and classes are available.

Seeing Nocturno examining and cleaning his spear wound, Linar suggests, "I've seen some useful herbs over there. If you want I can help make sure the wound is clean and make you a herbal paste to put on it afterwards. It would only use a tiny proportion of the leaves (and moss). It won't make it heal any faster, but it could help prevent infection. If so, I'll just check with Katten that it's ok to take them."

Trying not to be completely insulting:

"I uh, I should be fine, thank you. This place has sheltered us for the night already. I don't want to take more." he will then pull on his shirt, and find a spot to meditate for his spells.

Linar nods, "Glad you're ok," smiles warmly and continues about his business.

Katten is just enjoying it because she can. She knows that it will soon be taken away.

When she has finished bathing she grasps her vest and turns back to collect her things, before pulling her skirt and armor back on her person.

"We should leave this place. When you leave you will never remember how to get back here, only the guardians of the forest know its secrets." She announces and proceeds to check that the wild elves are ready to leave.
" Kid never learned to clear a room. Doors and corners, I told him. Doors and corners."

Nocturno will dress with military style concentration. And be ready to lead the main group or guard the vanguard.

Jordek spends the early morning introducing Chitt to Dran and Thoreau. The hope here is that a bit of trust is created between the three and no accidents occur resulting in the the maiming or (Wildwanderer forbid) the eating of any of the three.
Jordek giggles to himself as he pictures a Dran sized nut and what Chitt's reaction to that would be.

He then readies himself and keeps somewhat off to the side and watches the preparations being made by all the people.

[Everyone chose their spells for the day. Once the party moves out from the glade I'll open a new thread and lock this one. If anyone else plans to partake of the healing water, now is the time. Everyone regains 1 hp from rest.]

Each group rises and prepares for the day, washing their faces in the cool waters and drinking from the pool. Many of them voice surprise as wounds begin to eal and their exhaustion of the ordeal is washed away.

Elden and Nocturno both take a quick dip. The elven cleric's wound washes away completely, and the human's reduces to a small cut. Wow! Well that's handy. he says.

Thoreau seems rather curious about chitt. Still a very young cat he plays instinctively with the smaller creature, swatting at him and chasing. Dran, thinking this all is great fun, soon rushes over and bedlam ensues as the trio begin to chase each other all over the glade!

The former captives prepare to go; Eariel and the human soldiers moving with military precision, the other demihumans ready with a much more relaxed pace. We need to strike out soon and find the road. It will be the quickest route to Bordertown, and the safest.

Indendien moves to the half elf and clasps forearms with her. Luck in your journey, half-breed. she says with a smirk. May the forest protect you. Eariel grins at the wild elf, You be careful too. Don't pick the wrong mushrooms when you're out there eating tree-bark. the Sargent jokes. Many of the captives say their goodbyes to each other. It is clear they aren't all planning to travel together.

====
The Halflings, Gnome and Tribal Human [4] plan to travel north of the pit to their homes (near-ish Misan and Boyd's home).
The wild elves [2] live slightly southeast of the bridge (just south of Katten's area of guardianship).
The humans and Eariel [6] are all going to Bordertown (the closet trade-area Boyd knows of this side of the pit.)

It might be possible to convince the wild-elves and demihumans to travel together for now, but the humans are set on making the best time possible for bordertown (probably 2 days via the road)

===
Nocturno regains 4 hps from the manna water and is fully healed!

Elden regains 1 hp from rest [5/10]
Elden drinks from the Mana Water pool [2d3] = 4
Elden is now Barely Scratched [9/10 hps]

"Do you still have those skins from Signa? This must be the source of the healing water he gave us yesterday." he will ask Katten.

He will then head to the wild elves.

"Are there others that would be interested in joining in on clearing this threat if higher numbers are required?"

If they say yes, or think they can convince some to join the fight.

"Maybe we can quickly copy the map we found for our friends?" [OoC: If he knows about the map, not sure if he understood what was said.]

[OoC: Did we already cover that the human town will be raising troops to bring the heat to the goblins?]

We must speak with our tribe and tell all we have learned of the wetrock scum. They will wan't revenge, but this will be a difficult decision. Our tribe is small and the risk of many could be the end of us. If what the gnome says is true, the smaller outpost might be manageable for your group with aid, or more experience in fighting. The larger lair... she shakes her head. I fear will be far too costly...

[The humans said Bordertown would send a 'recovery patrol' to re-take their supplies, but probably wouldn't be able to spare forces to attack the goblins. Crown forces would take weeks.]

[Nocturno saw the map well enough. It was pretty basic and showed the location of 2 other lairs along the edge of the pit.]

If no natural source for drawing is available he will try to copy the map onto one of his parchments.

If the Bordertown group looks interested in the map, he will use his second parchment for them also. If no nature skins or big enough pieces of bark are available.

"Travelling in such small groups could be inviting danger. I would offer my skills to escort but I must stick with the group Signa assembled."

"Indeed. We fill once more." She announces motioning to the Humans. "Fill your skin's if you have them, water will aid you."

"I go with Indendien and Dillosel. We travel near my domain." Keeping her position next to the wild elves she smiles. "Some should go with little ones, you come with Forest ones for a time?"

Linar fills his waterskin, studies to memorise Armour and prays for a CLW.
In the course of the day (previous evening or current morning) he would float out to the other party members, "Who else here uses Arcane spells? Would any of you be interested at some point in sharing spells?"
