CH. 13: Consequences

Post by JadedDM »

Autumn Twilight 16, Gateway
Haahqae - Haahqae locks himself up in his room and spends (1d24): 11 hours summoning a familiar. He acquires a little grey mouse named Miracle. He spends 5 silver on his room.
Kendra - Kendra goes to work and earns 1 steel piece. Sadron regains 3 HP.
Arulia - Arulia works at her father's forge all day and earns 4 silver.
Grubnick - Grubnick pays 8 silver for his room at the High Hand. He searches around for Xyleena and Yvette and Delharn in the Merchant District but has no luck.
Ne-Chanz - Ne-Chanz pays 4 silver for their room at the High Hand. He heals 1 HP. He splits the coin with Shima. The 37 PP divides into 18 PP and 5 STP each. The 375 SP splits up into 187 SP and 5 CP each.
Shima - When he first wakes up, he feels weird. It's hard to say exactly, but he just feels off. (He suffers a -1 to all saving throws.) He pays 4 silver for their room at the High Hand. He heals 1 HP. He heads to the Steel Tankard to see Haahqae, but the gnome is not available. He returns to the High Hand and splits the coin with Ne-Chanz. He asks Gobax about Gregeddin. Gobax tells him that Gregeddin was arrested for attacking the prefect. Beyond that, he doesn't know anything. Shima goes to the Masked Dragon and takes a bath for 3 CP. He tracks down Raena. She tells him to forget about it. She's lost patience with him and has decided on a different route. She no longer needs his help in this regard. It's become clear she doesn't trust him, either, nor is she buying his reasons on why it's taking so long. He gives her a silver piece so they are 'square.' He goes to see Jane. She offers to sell him a vial for 50 STP, but it will take a few days to brew it. He decides not to. He goes to see Arulia, but he has no idea where to look. He gives the pregnant woman at the Tankard 12 SP (+1 Mishakal). He asks Ne-Chanz if he knows the woman he's been hired to kill. However, the minotaur does not; he hasn't been in this city much longer than Shima has. Ne-Chanz asks why he wants to know, and Shima tells him he was hired to kill her. He splits the coin with Ne-Chanz. The 37 PP divides into 18 PP and 5 STP each. The 375 SP splits up into 187 SP and 5 CP each. Shima keeps the gemstone a secret so keeps it to himself.

Autumn Twilight 17, Bright Eye
Haahqae - He spends 5 silver on his room. However, when he goes to show off to Ismene, he finds the room in disarray. Miriam is there, nursing a black eye. She tells him that a group of draconian soldiers showed up, arrested Ismene, and refused to explain why. They also tore the room apart, trying to find something. The soldiers took all of Ismene's money, as well as Miriam's, then demanded to know where 'the rest of it' was. When Ismene expressed she didn't know what they were talking about, they started beating her up, saying things like, "The divination placed a gnome on the scene!" and "You're a well known illusionist, aren't you?" Then they took her away (to where, Miriam has no idea). Miriam tried to stop them, but that didn't work out well. Now Miriam has no coin at all, will lose her room and be forced into slavery since homelessness is a crime. He gives Miriam 20 STP.
Kendra - Kendra goes to work and earns 1 steel piece. Sadron regains 3 HP.
Arulia - Arulia works at her father's forge all day and earns 4 silver.
Grubnick - Grubnick pays 8 silver for his room at the High Hand. He searches around for Xyleena and Yvette and Delharn in the Harbor District but has no luck.
Ne-Chanz - Ne-Chanz pays 4 silver for their room at the High Hand. He heals 3 HP.
Shima - He pays 4 silver for their room at the High Hand. He heals 1 HP. He purchases ingredients for Class E poison for 30 STP from the herbalist shop. He takes them to the inn and in his room, secretly mixes them together to create a deadly venom to coat on a weapon. He looks for Gobax again and asks him where Arulia lives and works. He says he'll get back to him.

Autumn Twilight 18, Night's Eye
Haahqae - He spends 5 silver on his room. He tries to seek out Kendra. She tells him she doesn't know who Ismene is or has any idea where she is being held, but she offers to find out (but assures him it won't help him any).
Kendra - Kendra stays in the shop and spends the day trying to sell the crystal wine glass [CHA check (1d20): 6, pass]. She sells it for 500 STP. Haahqae visits her and asks where Ismene is being held; Kendra has no idea what he's talking about. Sadron regains 3 HP.
Arulia - Arulia works at her father's forge all day and earns 4 silver. Grubnick visits her.
Grubnick - Grubnick pays 8 silver for his room at the High Hand. He searches around for Xyleena and Yvette and Delharn in the Farmer District but has no luck. He checks the old Belzorite lair, and it is occupied by goblin soldiers. He goes to the smithy and tells Arulia that Shima is searching for her. He then returns to Shima to tell him she works at the smithy.
Ne-Chanz - Ne-Chanz pays 4 silver for their room at the High Hand. He heals 3 HP.
Shima - He pays 4 silver for their room at the High Hand. He heals 1 HP. He attempts to visit Haahqae again, but he is too busy. Gobax tells him Arulia works at the smithy. Shima scouts out Una's Weaponsmithy and spots Cassilda, his target. (He now has a -2 to all saves.)

Autumn Twilight 19, Dead Eye
Haahqae - He spends 5 silver on his room. He makes an attempt to break into the mageware shop, but is unable to pick the lock on the front door. He returns to Miriam to discuss making a plan. She agrees to help him if she can.
Kendra - Kendra goes to work and earns 1 steel piece. Sadron regains 3 HP.
Arulia - Arulia works at her father's forge all day and earns 4 silver. Cassilda brings home 2 steel pieces from her job.
Grubnick - Grubnick pays 8 silver for his room at the High Hand. He searches around for Xyleena and Yvette and Delharn in the Merchant District but has no luck.
Ne-Chanz - Ne-Chanz pays 4 silver for their room at the High Hand. He heals 3 HP.
Shima - He pays 4 silver for their room at the High Hand. He heals 1 HP. He sells the gemstone he stole to Jane for 15 STP. Shima restores the rusty long sword by spending 1 STP at the weaponsmithy for supplies, then follows Cassilda home again. Shima buys a cloak with a cloak pin for 5 SP. (He now has -3 to all saves.)

Autumn Twilight 20, Dream Dance
Haahqae - He spends 5 silver on his room. He heads to the temple, pretending to worship, but is actually trying to scope the place out. He uses detect magic but doesn't learn very much. He makes himself invisible and heads into the noble district. He finds the prefect's mansion is guarded by an even larger red dragon. He spots Kendra enter the building and a short time later, exit. He approaches her and asks her about Ismene.
Kendra - Kendra goes to work and earns 1 steel piece. Sadron regains 3 HP. Haahqae asks her about Ismene, so she looks into it and then reports back to him that Tethys has set up anti-invisibility measures in his mansion, the fort and the temple and is going to be enacting a law that forbids unregistered magic use.
Arulia - Arulia works at her father's forge all day and earns 4 silver. Shima tells her that he was hired by the church to kill Cassilda.
He attempts to visit Haahqae again. Haahqae is in a bad mood and offers little company to Shima. He asks why and if there's anything he can do. Haahqae tells him Ismene was arrested. Shima follows Cassilda to work, and spots Arulia escorting her. After she is alone, he approaches her and confesses everything to her. She tells him off. (He now has -4 to all saves.)

Autumn Twilight 21, Winged Trade
Haahqae - He spends 5 silver on his room. He spends the day searching for Yvette and Xyleena in taverns (he finds nothing), try to find out where people being arrested are taken (he doesn't find any), and looks for people openly speaking poorly of the occupation in taverns (he doesn't find any).
Kendra - Kendra goes to work and earns 1 steel piece. Sadron regains 3 HP.
Arulia - Arulia works at her father's forge all day and earns 4 silver.
Grubnick - Grubnick pays 8 silver for his room at the High Hand. He searches around for Xyleena and Yvette and Delharn in the Farmer District but has no luck. He checks the old Belzorite lair, and it is occupied by goblin soldiers.
Ne-Chanz - Ne-Chanz pays 4 silver for their room at the High Hand. He heals 3 HP.
Shima - He pays 4 silver for their room at the High Hand. He heals 3 HP. (He now has -5 to all saves.)

Autumn Twilight 22, World Tree
Haahqae - He spends 5 silver on his room. He spends the day and most of the night (invisible) studying patrols and trying to learn more about them.

Grubnick - Grubnick pays 8 silver for his room at the High Hand. He searches around for Xyleena and Yvette and Delharn in the Merchant District but has no luck. Arulia visits him in the evening and tells him she has set up a meeting for Yvette and Xyleena.
Ne-Chanz - Ne-Chanz pays 4 silver for their room at the High Hand. He heals 1 HP.
Shima - He pays 4 silver for their room at the High Hand. He heals 1 HP. (He now has -6 to all saves.)

==============

It is the morning of Autumn Twilight 23rd, Gateway, in the year 351 AC. It is First Watch.

==============

Haahqae (Steel Tankard Inn, Room 15)
Haahqae wakes up that morning in that same cold, dreary, dilapidated room as always. It feels particularly bleak to him this morn, perhaps due to the past week he's faced. Although initially he was immensely pleased with himself for being able to sneak into the Old Fort on his own, steal more money than most people see in a lifetime, then walk away with seemingly no consequences at all. However, he later learned that things did not go as well as he believed. The missing coin was discovered quite quickly and the prefect had the high priestess perform a divination. It revealed a gnome was responsible. Since there were only two gnomes in the city, and only one of them was a known illusionist, the army erroneously concluded Ismene was the culprit.

Now she was being held somewhere without due process, likely being tortured. Haahqae had thought to make himself invisible again, find her, and spring her. However, after speaking with Kendra, he learned that Tethys had installed anti-invisibility security measures in the fort and his mansion, and likely the temple, as well. Although he had come to feel that he was better off working alone, it was becoming increasingly clear he might need help on this one.

He had also spent the last week exploring his relationship with the little mouse he summoned, or Miracle as he called her. He had learned quite a bit about her and their connection so far. Having her nearby seemed to heighten his own senses a bit (+1 against surprise). And it was nice having someone to talk to, although Miracle was rather simple and didn't really grasp most of what he told her. Although much smarter than an average mouse, it was still like talking with a small child. She was happy to help however she could, but she didn't understand things like religion, politics, or history (indeed, being only 4 months old, the concept of a year was foreign to her, nevermind decades or centuries).

(OOC: You can choose new spells for today, if you like.)

Kendra Synclair (2527 Market Street, Greylock's Gorgeous Gems)
Kendra had kept busy the last few days. She works during the day, trains Camilla during the evening and at night, tends to Sadron. He is practically good as new at this point, with only a mild scar remaining of the battle he faced in Qualinesti. She had grown so accustomed to having him around, she had almost forgotten her husband has been jailed for the past two weeks.

At least she had managed to sell the crystal wine glass, meaning she now has enough money to take care of herself and Sadron for the next month. She still needs a week's worth of pay to support her family, however.

Today was the day of the parade for the Hero of Haven. Kendra was to lead the parade from one side of the market district to the other, pausing in the market square to give a speech. The whole thing was partly to raise morale of both the soldiers and the citizens, and to convince the citizens to view the soldiers as 'heroes' who were liberating them from evil rebels. But it was also an elaborate trap. Tethys was hoping that the heretical cleric who attacked before would be drawn out again, and this time captured.

When she wakes up that morning, she finds herself in bed alone. Sadron is nowhere to be found. However, she smells the odor of breakfast wafting from below and can hear the occasional clatter of cutlery coming from the kitchen.

Tulbas Erogund (Tower of Wayreth, Unknown Floor on AT 15)
With some reluctance, Tulbas descends to the floor below. Selowen stays close to him, clearly expecting an attack at any second. She keeps looking in all directions, including behind them, in anxiety.

When they reach the next floor, they find only silence...and carnage. Furniture has been overturned, walls have collapsed, doors have been blown from their hinges and the smell of recently expended magic is everywhere.

To the south are a couple of rooms with holes in the walls, making for easy access. It looks like they might have been some kind of storage rooms. The magical lights that illuminate the halls are absent in the storage rooms; they were likely dispelled in the fighting. As a result, they are quite dark inside. To the west the hallway curves northward and there are two doors opposite of each other there. For the moment, it doesn't appear as if anyone is around.

Arulia Seroth (323 Three Forks, Seroth residence)
There was only one week left remaining in the month of Autumn Twilight. On the one hand, this had been a terrible month and good riddance to it. First her father was arrested without due process, then Camilla started training under the Dragonarmy (even if it was with Kendra), and now she has learned that a man she thought she could trust had been hired to murder her sister Cassilda by the church. She was unsure what to do now, especially about that last one. If she prevented Cassilda from going to work, they would lose the only income aside from the smithy itself. But on the other hand, even if Shima stays away from her, they might send more assassins.

Why would they target a teenage girl, who had not done a thing to them? Nothing about it made sense.

There were also financial worries. She needed to make enough coin this month to care for herself, her mother, and her three sisters. She had earned enough for three of them so far.

In all the chaos of her life, she had all but forgotten William and her promise to Paladine to help free the city. How could she fight a revolution when she was struggling just to keep her family in one piece?

The one hope spot she had, was she had set up a meeting with Yvette and Xyleena through little Aaron. Perhaps, with Gobax's help, they could ambush the thieves and get back their lost fortune. However, could she still trust Shima to help them after his confession? And what about Haahqae? He had been such an ass when she asked for his help before. Could she and Gobax pull this off on their own?

(OOC: You can pick new spells today if you want.)

Grubnick (High Hand Inn, Room 16)
Grubnick wakes up that morning and checks his coin. He was running out. At this rate, thanks to the increase in prices at the inn, he would be out of money in about a week's time. Fortunately, he might have a way out of this problem soon. Arulia had managed to set up a meeting with Yvette and Xyleena somehow. This was surprising; all of Grubnick's attempts to find them had failed so far. But he and she had come up with a plan to hopefully ambush the pair and take back their coin.

However, he had not heard or seen any from his mentor. Where was the old dwarf hiding? Was he safe? It was frustrating that he had left no means for Grubnick to reach him, even in an emergency.

(OOC: You can pick new spells today if you like.)

Ne-Chanz (High Hand Inn, Room 7)
Ne-Chanz had spent the last week mostly healing up. His new roommate was quite different from Felran, and took some getting used to. He was still unsure what to do about Felran. Aside from the fact the Phaethon had owed him 16 silver when he died (guess he'll never claim that now), his body was still rotting in the sewers. Still, at least he felt healthy again and ready for more sewer diving. At this point, he rather reeked of the sewers. Luckily he spent most of the week in his room, because when he came out, the people around him would make faces and or even gag. None had the courage to say anything to the minotaur, though.

He also now had plenty of coin to spend, enough to keep him alive and well for some time. The sewers were not completely cleared out yet, and he would need to take care of that before he could be given the location of Yvette and Xyleena.

Shima Longfoot (High Hand Inn, Room 7)
Shima had spent the last week sharing a room with Ne-Chanz. Compared to Gregeddin, the minotaur was not the best of roommates. He hadn't bathed in three weeks, and the entire room stunk now as a result.

That wasn't the worst of it, though. The past week had been rough. While he had healed all of his injuries from the sewers, and now was sitting on a decent amount of coin to keep him alive through the winter, everything else had been a rather terrible experience. First, he was hired by the church to kill a young woman. It turned out to be Arulia's younger sister. He confessed this to her, and rather than be grateful for him being honest, she was furious at him. What's more, he was cursed by Takhisis. He had hoped to cheat a goddess, but that hadn't work out well for him. The curse would grow stronger with each passing day, unless he did as he promised and slay Cassilda. Otherwise, it was likely that sooner or later, the curse would claim his life. He was being made to choose between himself and an innocent young girl. But was there some third option he had not yet discovered?

Haahqae wakes up to the cold air and wishes he hadn’t. Things had not got better. No, they had steadily gotten worse since the occupation. He had his flair, his amazing way of doing things, but just when it appears he’s scraped together a small victory, twice as much was snatched away from him by pure chance.

What kind of cursed divination did they use anyways? Didn’t evil entities dislike divinations in general? Which hell did they manage to dig up a divination that identified the race and school of magic of the culprit and not the gender or affiliations? How had they even noticed the steel gone in the first place? They had tens, hundreds, maybe thousands of thousands of steel in that treasury, Haahqae had only taken a very very small portion of it. Surely there must be enough corruption in the army that small amounts of steel like that get swept under the radar all the time! They probably spent more on material components for the divination then Haahqae had even stolen! If it was this easy for them to divine such things, why hadn’t they used their freaking infinite wisdom to divine who had attacked his show? Or where Xleena and Yvette had hidden? This whole thing is totally unfair.

Haahqae tries to go back to sleep, but he’s not gifted with such a release. He’s been having some trouble sleeping all week, dark thoughts plaguing his mind and clouding his vision.

He really wants to find this mage that cast the divination and make him slowly suffer so that he feels what Ismene is probably feeling right now. Make him learn of the suffering he’s caused on an innocent seeker of knowledge. Then, when his pain is unbearable, only then grant him the release of death. Or, it probably would be better if Haahqae could convince him to confess that his divination was completely wrong and that Ismene could not have possibly been the culprit.
But he has no clue who cast the divination, much less where they are or what their weaknesses are. Certainly they must be very powerful, since Haahqae can’t cast any spells even near that powerful. Maybe Haahqae should just go on a general rampage and kill as many Takhisis servants as he can.

He needs to find Ismene and spring her. They know about invisibility and are taking anti-measures to that in the keep and the prefect’s house, which probably means that Ismene is in one of those places, so that they can be sure that she doesn’t escape. It would be much harder for them to protect a moving caravan taking her out of the city right? He, really doesn’t know. Despite his quest for knowledge for all of his life, many of the arcane secrets have still been kept from him, like how one wards against invisibility. Regardless, Haahqae doesn’t need to rely on invisibility to remain out of sight. He’s got a small profile and he was quite apt at hiding even before he learned how to turn invisible. But such an act carries a lot of risk, and if he should fail to spring Ismene, there’s no guarantee that they’d release her after capturing him.

And, he doesn’t even know where she is now. He knows a lot of places that she isn’t. She isn’t somewhere which isn’t guarded against illusions. She isn’t at the inn, diligently studying secrets that Haahqae could only dream of learning.

He should turn himself in. Ismene is suffering the longer he holds out. He’s just one gnome in a city where a veritable goddess is oppressing the people and working against him. She’s had thousands of years to plan and plot, Haahqae’s had only a tiny fraction of that. What chance does he think he has against her? Maybe, given some years, he could hold his own in this war, but by then Ismene will have died a slow, painful death. Haahqae can end that. Or can he?

If Haahqae turns himself in, does he have any guarantee that they’ll release Ismene? Takhisis doesn’t seem to listen to reason very often, so for all he knows she’ll kill both of himself and Ismene. And Haahqae has a lot to live for, he has a life quest to fulfil and a lot of work to do in getting there. Surely, in completing his quest he would bring peace and prosperity to countless people, can he sacrifice that goal for the chance to save one life, no matter how splendid and perfect that life is?

He should find Yvette and Xleena and frame them for the crime. Surely they’ve stolen as much steel from a much more noble cause, they deserve to be punished for the robbery. And they’ve probably been spending that hard-earned steel, so there’s got to be enough evidence to convict them of the crime.
But… Haahqae has no idea where they are. He’s been searching for them for weeks. He’s searched high, he’s searched low, left and right, and yet, not even the faintest hint of where they could be.

Good morning Miracle. Telepathically communicating with a mouse was a bit of a Shock for Haahqae at first, but he eventually embraced it and somewhat relished in the fact that he could talk to someone without anyone else hearing him.

Haahqae forces himself up, out of bed and through his morning ritual, memorizing Detect Magic, Spider Climb, Change Self, Scare and Invisibility. Then he grudgingly goes downstairs to try and figure out what he could possibly get accomplished today.

Kendra looks around in a daze as she sits up in bed. Norris was usually the one that made noise this early in the morning while he made breakfast, but he was locked up. It was then she realizes that Sadron was missing. ~He's making breakfast?~ she asks herself. She quickly gets herself dressed, pulls her hair back in its normal pony tail, and makes her way downstairs.

Haahqae (Steel Tankard Inn, Common Room)
The morning is cold, replies Miracle. She hadn't quite learned the complexities of metaphor. Haahqae hadn't meant it was literally a good morning, but she still struggles with such nuance. The sewers are warmer, she points out. Her little nose twitches in the air, as if searching for a particular scent. Probably cheese. While he studies his spellbook, she crawls up his arm, then hops up onto his head and under his hat for warmth. It was particularly chilly in the room, since the window doesn't shut all of the way, letting in the cold air. That's the downside to living in the cheapest inn in the city.

After he's finished, he slips his spellbook back into his pack and puts it on. He leaves his weapons and armor in his room, of course.

Stepping downstairs into the common area, he sees the normal regulars about. The pregnant woman, the woman with the eye-patch, Bear, and Cassandra. He also sees Jaymes Green, the ranger who hired him to slay the giant. He sits alone, sipping some tea.

Kendra Synclair (2527 Market Street, Greylock's Gorgeous Gems)
Kendra enters the kitchen and finds Sadron just finishing up making breakfast. Being a Qualinesti, of course, there's no meat. There's elven bread with honey, fresh fruit, chopped oats and juice.

"Ah, fair morning," Sadron says when he notices her. "I hope you don't mind. I thought you could use a full meal today, knowing what's coming." He was likely referring to the parade this morning. It won't begin until Fourth Watch, so she has a few hours before then. Sadron is doing much better now, with his injuries almost completely healed up. He's been growing more restless, though, especially when she tells him about how things are going during the occupation. Sadron clearly wishes to do something to help, but knows the minute he steps foot outside he'll be arrested.

"Let's start checking the storage rooms for something useful." Tulbas suggests to Selowen and leads the way. He first tries to see if there is a torch or a lantern they can lit and see better what's in the rooms.

=========================================================
(OOC: Tulbas will start exploring the SE room. If he won't find something to lit already in the room he has his own torch. He will use it for short while just to see what's in the room and then put it down to save it.
Doesn't the stairs lead another floor down?)

"You didn't have to," Kendra says with a small smile as she looks over the food prepared. "But thank you," she adds as she takes a seat. "I think I'm most worried about this speech I'm suppose to give today."

Arulia wakes early and, despite the cold, throws off her blankets without hesitation to dress for the day. There's much to do, and she has no time to lose if she's to succeed. "IF I succeed," she thinks. "Paladine help me, I need this to go right."

Unwilling to wait to have breakfast with her mother and sisters, she bids goodbye to each of her sisters that are already awake, and tells them to let their mother know that she's gone out early. She speaks last to Cassilda--the only one she'd wake from sleep to do so. "Be very careful, Cassilda. Don't let yourself be alone, and take Camilla or Niniva walk you to work, and back home again too. I love you, little sister...so stay safe!"

(OOC: Arulia wishes to retain only two cure light wounds spells. She'll pray for two instances of command to round out her first level spells, and two instances of hold person for her second level spells.)

Kendra Synclair (2527 Market Street, Greylock's Gorgeous Gems)
Sadron chuckles as he joins her for the meal. "Ah, I see. So facing off an elemental of heat and flame is child's play, but public speaking is where you have doubts?" he teases.

Tulbas Erogund (Tower of Wayreth, Unknown Floor on AT 15)
Tulbas starts searching the storage rooms. He finds no torches or lanterns nearby, but as he has infravision, he doesn't need it. He can see just fine in the dark.

Most of the equipment that was stored here has been looted or damaged in the fighting. He does spot a bunch of broken wands buried in some rubble. However, digging further reveals that one wand did survive. It looks to be made from ironwood, which might explain how it survived being buried in rubble.

Looking it over, he realizes that it is likely a simple Wand of Magic Missiles. Not quite as efficient as the spell itself, but still a useful tool to have on hand. He isn't certain how many charges it has left, though.

Tulbas makes a Spellcraft check [TN 17] (1d20): 9, pass. He recognizes it as a Wand of Magic Missiles.

(OOC: The stairs only led as far down as this floor. To go further down, he'll need to find another staircase.)

Arulia Seroth (323 Three Forks, Seroth residence)
"But where are you going?" asks Cassilda in puzzlement, as she and Camilla are the only ones up about about so far. "We don't usually open the smithy until Tenth Watch."

Shima Longfoot (South Haven Sewers)
Shima does not have the patience to wait for Ne-Chanz to wake up or answer him, so he just darts downstairs, orders a quick breakfast, and then bolts for the warehouse in the harbor district. Descending the ladder alone, he enters the sewers. The gear he and the minotaur left behind are still present, as well as the now rotting corpse of Felran. The smell is quite bad. Shima also notes the presence of a few dead rats surrounding the corpse. Evidently they started eating, and the poison that killed Felran then killed the rats, too.

"Oh, you must be feeling better," Kendra says, jokingly. "Have I ever really been great with words?"

"Selowen, do you have any offensive spells remembered?" Tulbas asks putting the wand he found in his belt. In an instance memories of the time he spend with Raetmal overwhelm him. He remembered when he learned of the usage of wands and the importance of having quick access to them. Raetmal showed him many ways to prepare patches to put the wands in, either in the robes or on his belt. He puts the want in one such prepared slot, his favorite slot since it was the first one he prepared and he had invested time decorating it with image of flowers his sister loved. He then returns to the feet of the staircase and gives a quick search on the wall to the east for hidden doors. If he finds nothing he will lead them along the corridor that curves west and northward.

Grubnick says his morning devotions and prays for wisdom and guidance in the meeting with the thieves. He also prays for the safety of Delharn. Once done, he goes downstairs for breakfast and speaks to Green Tears, asking how she is and if there is anything he can help her with.

[Ooc: Grubnick will keep the same spells, and add Cure Moderate and Glyph of Warding to his new slots]

"I have business to attend to," Arulia says. "If all goes well, we won't have to worry about money for a while, and the sooner I get to it the better. Take care of yourself, and remember: do not let yourself be alone!"

Arulia leaves the house before more of her family can object or ask awkward questions, and hurries down to the High Hand to meet with Gobax.

Once again Haahqae plays with the idea of moving the the Masked Dragon. The Steel Tankard was a horrible establishment which could barely manage to keep the building standing and was inhabited by patrons who cared nearly nothing for his astounding performances, or at least not enough to earn a living off them like he’d done for so long. It was cold, damp and if he went to the Dragon he would surely be a lot more comfortable. Myriam was sharing a room with Ismene to cut costs, certainly Haahqae could appreciate the need to save money in tight times like these, and he might be able to get a room cheap by sharing with her. But, Haahqae is pretty opposed to having a roommate. It’s just a lot easier to do what he does without someone judging him at all times, and Myriam has shown herself to being very judgemental.

Pulling himself out of his train of thought once again Haahqae looks around the room. The ranger guy is here. Maybe there’s someone who might actually have gratitude towards Haahqae and have the will and the ability to help Haahqae for a change. Haahqae knows that far too few people seem to have his interests in mind recently. Or, more likely Jaymes has had as hard a time surviving the occupation as Bear. Life sucks.

Ordering a bowl of whatever Cassandra is making for breakfast, Haahqae sits down besides the ranger. “Good morning. How’ve you been keeping since we last parted ways?”

When I say Good Morning, I’m not actually meaning that the morning is good, it’s just sort of a greeting used up here with the big folk. It means hello. Certain things need clarifying if Miracle is going to live up to her name. Miracle is positively the smartest mouse that Haahqae has ever had the chance to talk to, but she has so much more that Haahqae needs to teach.
