(OOC: You shouldn't loose maneuverability until you hit encumbrance, where each level will drop you a bit. I believe the first level = -1/3 and a letter class drop, the next is the same.)

Oh that's worth knowing. So Aaron could have some armour and not lose flying speed/nimbleness?

(OOC: Last time I checked, as long as you don't exceed the weight limit, you could fly just fine. In other words, you have ~26 lbs to work with until you reach the first level of encumbrance. You'll drop to MV 12 (D) at that point. Then it'll be MV 6 (E) and after that, you won't be flying at all. I will say that if you get a set of armor later, you will have to deal with the cost of making it work for you. AKA, removing armor over where your wings are. Pretty sure you'd be able to get a nice set of leather or studded leather and still make the budget and weight. Just don't go overboard ;) )

Sanity check : PHB says 5d4 x10gp, so 2ep=1gp, correct? i.e so 170ep 85gp and dividing by 10 means = the 5d4 roll was 8.5?? I don't see how that's possible.What am I getting wrong here?

Ok, assuming the above is correct, the kit has to be bought out of 170ep?
If so, kit to date:

Holy icon (gravestone) [0.1lb] @nil ??
backpack [2 lbs] @2gps
Longsword [4 lbs] @15gps
Knee-high leather boots @3gps
Spare white toga, [3lb] @9sps
waterskin (0 pints) [1 lbs] @8sp
trail rations (7 day) [7 lb] @10gps
spare holy icon [0.1 lb] @nil??
parchment x10 @10gp
inkpot/quill @8gps
soap [1lb] @5sps

Total = 50.2 gps = 100.4eps so 69.9eps left, correct?
Which equals 34.8gps, so can just afford studded leather [25lb] at 20gp and dagger [1lb] 2gps = 44eps, leaves 25.9eps left.

Total weight (including studded leather) is 44.2lb which is just within the 45lbs for STR 12. Correct?

Nahp, you buy everything as if your ep total is your gp total.

The only difference is silver to electrum ratio, where 8sp would be 1ep and 3sp.

And, yes, you'd make the weight. Just don't go picking up any flowers.

Ok, so if I understand this correctly:
Silver Holy icon (gravestone) [0.1lb] @25gp
backpack [2 lbs] @2gps
Longsword [4 lbs] @15gps
Knee-high leather boots @3gps
Spare white toga, [3lb] @9sps
waterskin (0 pints) [1 lbs] @8sp
trail rations (7 day) [7 lb] @10gps
spare Silver holy icon [0.1 lb] @25gps
parchment x10 @10gp
inkpot/quill @8gps
soap [1lb] @5sps
Holy water x2 @50gps
studded leather [25lb] at 20g

Total = 170 gps = 170 eps

(It's actually 0.2 ep over, but we can always make one of the holy symbols slightly smaller..)
Comments?

Actually, if no one has realized it yet.

I don't charge for clothes unless they are super fancy. So, you would actually have 4 ep and 3sp left. Woo.

Aaron wakes up in his small room within the side halls of the Valydiriam Cathedral. His things lay where he set them the night before, and it seems to be morning already.

He gets cleaned up, dressed and heads out for food.
