WotL OOC Thread III

This 2E Dragonlance game is set in the city of Haven, during the War of the Lance. Haven is a city undergoing great upheaval. First massive numbers of refugees pour in, then the city is conquered by a draconic army. Can our heroes survive under this dark occupation?

WotL OOC Thread III

Post by JadedDM »

Huh, not even a full year yet, and we've hit 50 pages again.

Anyway, continued from last time:

(As a joke, with fire immunity, heat damage is also nullified, that mean I can stick my hands into the forge? xD)
Yes, two weaponsmiths. One is in the merchant district, the other in the harbor district.

And yes, you could stick your hand in the forge with fire immunity. You'd be completely immune to normal fire and heat of any kind. You could go swimming in a volcano, if you wanted to (although anything you were wearing or carrying would be destroyed and you might have trouble breathing, of course).

Magical fire still hurts, but only does half-damage (one quarter damage if you save).

Swimming in a volcano? Why did you give me an idea?

Also, how do I make a masterwork item, can we enchant things here, and is there a fire ward enchant.

Sorry for the insane amount of questions, but it's all part of the plan.

Forging masterwork items works exactly the same as forging normal ones, but it takes longer and you add a -4 penalty to your check when you're done.

Enchanting items requires magic (either arcane or divine) and you need to be high level (11th at least) to do so.

I suppose if you could gather six priests together and one of them was at least level 6, you could theoretically do that.

How much is an enchanted masterwork weapon worth? :)

You mean, in terms of money? It's priceless. Magical items do not have a set GP value in 2E. I suppose it would depend on the specific enchantment, and how much the customer was willing to pay and the seller was willing to accept.

Also, 'enchanted masterwork' is a bit redundant. All magical items are masterwork. You can't enchant a mundane item, only the best will hold the magic.

Oh, I see.

If I were to slap a +1 Flametounge Longsword down on the table, would the permit givers just throw them in my face?

You mean like, buy a permit with a long sword +1? Yeah, I'd say so.

I meant, like offer the sword for permits for the whole party.

Oh, and maybe Greg and the signers a pardon.

For the whole party? Probably not.

And it wouldn't buy Gregeddin a pardon. You can't bribe the prefect, he's already super rich, and he's the one who's deciding Gregeddin's fate.

I see. We need that bard. Maybe we could offer the prefect... A +5 Vorpal Greatsword? How we get that I have no idea, but that kind of magic is... Insane

Sure. Maybe throw in a Ring of Three Wishes and a Deck of Many Things while you're at it. :P

That's not a bad idea. However, we could just -use- the deck.

As for the Prefect, I can guess I do not want to deal with him if I can avoid it.

It seems we are taking turns with who needs rescueing.
That is one way of creating adventures. :)
