Re: LSO OOC Thread III
"Initiate Immortal" is a new upgrade or did I miss it before? Congratulations JadedDM.
Re: LSO OOC Thread III
Yeah, I got it at 10,000 posts. Next upgrade is at 12,000 posts, which I calculate I'll reach in about 19 months.
Re: LSO OOC Thread III
It must be "Approved Immortal" or something like that. How does immortality become you?
Re: LSO OOC Thread III
Close, but not quite.
If only having a high post count really did make one immortal! But then I suppose everyone would spam like crazy to get there.

Re: LSO OOC Thread III
I assume one does become immortal by his posts the same as good writers influence the world years after they leave us.
Re: LSO OOC Thread III
How high does it go? And who sets these things? Or does it come ready-installed with the site?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: LSO OOC Thread III
I already answered the first question in War of the Lance.
The admins set them. They control the titles, the icons that go with them, and what number is needed to reach them.

Re: LSO OOC Thread III
It feels as though someone is kidnapping our GMs from this site
Re: LSO OOC Thread III
If you're referring to spyguy and chese, I think they're just caught up in graduation/end of the school year stuff.
People vanish from this site all of the time, though. Sometimes for months or even years at a time, with no warning. Check out how many games are in the Abandoned Games forum.
In fact, there was one guy named xelphyn who was one of the original players of this very game. Right before we reached the end of arc 1, he just disappeared without a word. Two years later, he suddenly showed up again and rejoined. And then in January, he vanished and hasn't been back. Maybe in another two years, he'll return. Who can say?
This phenomenon isn't localized to Planet, though. It's very common in play by post games. Heck, it's fairly regular in any online D&D games. I remember having the same problem back when I used to run chat-based games, too.
It's why I've never had a D&D character go beyond level 2 before. Whenever I am a player in a game, the GM always winds up vanishing before we get too far. It's why I took up DMing in the first place. It was the only way to guarantee I'd get to see a game through to the end.

Re: LSO OOC Thread III
Well your reliability is astounding. TY.
I don't give up easily though - Highest I've had in 2nd Ed (or anything for that matter) is a L19 elven magic user. (Played that one for about 10 years, 2 or 3 sessions a week, barring holidays..)
