Encountered NPC's By Town

A homebrewed world I’ve been working on that dearly needs some people to come in and flesh it out through their adventures. I’m open to a party being formed together, or meeting in game through their exploration, or possibly meeting as enemies. I’d like to keep the character options as unlimited as possible.

Encountered NPC's By Town

Post by Namenlos »

Kaldane:

The city of Kaldane, a large/medium city focused on mining and industry. If a town could have an Alignment this place would be Neutral/Lawful Evil, making it the ideal home city of The Tops. Corruption is the word of the day, and gold is law, however the ruling council and more powerful organizations have formed a slight bond to keep things running relatively smoothly, with many owners/masters of said organizations making up the ruling council.

----
The Tops, Assassins Guild

Arnos Veltur-Guild Master

Ban the Broken- honorary right hand to Arnos, most of his bones were broken and healed poorly after a fall during a botched job(not his fault) and he had to make himself useful in new ways. Using his intelligence/Wisdom established a valuable spy network and runs more of the guild than Arnos himself

Ashlei(Ash)- Seductress( Arnos' Left Hand)

Zerichar- The eldest, Red eyes and black hair cut short and slicked back wrapping around the prominent horns jutting from his head. He wears various metal armors depending on the mission assigned, sticking to a light suit of red chain mail when about the guild hall. Several daggers are strapped and sheathed about his body, but his longsword at his waste is the weapon he is proudest of most. He proudly calls his sword Maimer, shouting its name loudly and often when in his cups with fellow guild members, The blade has a red tinge to
its blade, almost glowing with a red baleful light.

Yutari- The middle child. Considered by most to be the deadliest of the three. When seen, and thats not often, she is wearing soft black cloth covering almost every inch of her body, even going so far as to wrapping it about her face up to her nose. Red pitiless eyes stare out from above the black cloth, not many can hold her gaze as she stares out at them. Though she wields no weapons obviously the creases and folds of the cloth about her conceal many.

Kaixes- The youngest. Red eyes match his red hair, only the polished obsidian of the horns twisting about his forehead break the color pattern. Almost as loud as his elder, but more arrogant. He wears colorful robes, red, purple and black being his colors of choice and golden chains studded with precious gems adorn his body. Wand handles poke from his belt and various pockets, some just bits of wood designed to look as such to provide distractions. He is often seen twirling a metal rod tipped with a small skull at one end and a clawed foot at the other, when he calls upon it, the rod extends into a staff.

Sleepy Nix- No Title, and no actual command rank

Gary one- Weapon Master/oversees new guild members on high profile missions, tentative third in command.

Mirt- A shadow(veteran rank)

Trev- A Shadow

Staedman- A silencer(below shadow)

Lisbet- A Silencer

Davis- A silencer

Konag- A pupil of Gary one and a door "bruiser"

Alan- Pupil of Gary one

Gary Two- Pupil of Gary one

Melaina- Pupil of Ash

Tor Donolan:

The secret(mostly) home of a clan of Pixies; located in the Northwest of the continent.

Anabelle Snowberry- The Divine Adoratice(fulfills the role of a High Priest, of sorts.) of the Pixie clan.

Heather Blossom: The Clans nonofficial healer, she is the most skilled at healing related Alchemy as well as possessing a few minor healing spells.

Juniper Springs: Enjoys spending time at the "Sauna" which is a small pool created by water caught in the depression of a boulder at the waterfalls base. Juniper carved a hole into the boulders base and up to beneath the water collected, Snowberry enchanted a stone to provide never ending heat and Juniper placed this within the hole she had carved.

Lark Moondance: Best Friend of Sway Cometfall, they are inseparable, even avoiding the others. They also prefer the night.

Sway Cometfall: Best Friend of Lark Moondance, they are inseparable, even avoiding the others. They a;sp prefer the night.

Robin Warbler: Loves to fly with the birds.

Cannabis Sativa: Often found with Juniper at the "sauna"

River Rushing: Loves the sound of a running river and can be found at the top of the waterfall, she enjoys messing with anyone in the "sauna" at the base of the falls.

Coniferous Spiderspinner: Enjoys making up silly names and changing her own at random, the longer the name the better. Often helps others choose their names.

----
Despite having different personalities they all have certain traits in common, at least in their younger years.
-Pranksters and tricksters they mostly just enjoy a good laugh. Often at the expense of others, however they are just as willing to laugh at themselves.
-Are almost never serious(see above) excepting experiences that are very emotional. Example: The loss of someone close to them.
-Their days are "split" with the mornings often being a time of solitude and the evenings a time to gather and enjoy each others company.
-Considered naive by many but they are mostly just ignorant of anything different.

Clansedge:

The very edge of the Dwarven(awaiting renaming) Clan territories bordering the human lands, working as a trade hub for both Dwarves and Humans to meet. A diverse group of peoples make up the population though a great deal are Dwarven; the Gnomes have been long time allies of the Dwarves, their collaborative works shaping the world. The humans, with whom the Dwarves share a border, have a strong presence in the town, and much of the "Dirtside"(above ground) buildings exist purely for their convenience....

Mahbhodi(Northerners, tentative name):

Not necessarily war-like(though often thought to be so) but more "tough"; aggressive attitudes and very physically strong bodies are the main reasons for this.
Originally outcasts from their southern neighbors(though no one remembers why, or how long exactly) they made their way north to what appeared to be a a vibrant forest spanning hundreds of miles of workable land. In truth, the ground beneath the trees was strewn with rocks, some impossible to move without first spending the time breaking them into smaller pieces.
These outcasts worked diligently to clear space in the forest to build a new home, the building site chosen on a large slab of rock that spanned miles. During this time they survived on wild game for the most part, and a few of the hardier plants they had brought and found.

The people began as an democracy for a short time, everyone taking part in decisions for their survival and growth. As populations increased more and more moved away from this newly established "capitol" in the hopes of finding an area that would be more sustainable for a large population. These "pioneers" had little success, their best hope being the coast for easy access to fishing; the coast proved to be an untenable position with regular storms leaving any sea side settlement in ruins.

While hopeful folks searched for a new home the "capitol" was experiencing it's very first political shift, a small "gang" forming out of mutual self interest and a desire to "have more". This "gang" was able to quickly gain influence over a large amount of the population, bringing many into their ranks and keeping them as 'juniors" with little rights. Patience was not their strength and after only a few years the "gang" made their move to consolidate their power and gain actual control of the people through a self appointed government.
This push for power instead left the city in fiery ruins and a large portion of the population dead or wounded leading for large groups of survivors to leave their former homes behind.

The predominately male "gang" found themselves (rightfully) blamed for the tragedy and the remaining angry populace(led by the "gang" members own wives) attacked anyone they found to be connected to the to the original "gang", executing them in a more and more vicious manner as those who had lost reaped their vengeance....
