Okay, so my plan so far is to go full blown healer. I was thinking hill dwarf cleric of Zodal, life domain, acolyte background.

That's all I really have so far.

I think my guy is ready to go. Let me know if I overlooked anything.

Okay, how does this look?

STR 10 (+0)
DEX 10 (+0)
CON 13 (+1)
INT 12 (+1)
WIS 15 (+2)
CHA 13 (+1)

That's 27 points. Now, as a hill dwarf, that adds a +2 to CON and a +1 to WIS, so that leads to:

STR 10 (+0)
DEX 10 (+0)
CON 15 (+2)
INT 12 (+1)
WIS 16 (+3)
CHA 13 (+1)

Do I have that right? Is that an okay build for a healer-focused cleric that can also tank a bit?

Looks good to me. How's learning the new system going? Any questions about it?

So far, it seems pretty simple, almost like 2E in that respect.

I assume the cap you placed on ability scores at 15 is because we get a +2 every 4 levels?

I'm going with the rules for point buy in the players handbook, it has the cap of 15.

Oh, as I'm adding posts in the description of the world section, go ahead and tell me if you need clarification on anything, or if there's anything I've left out.
Sorry it's taking so long, I'm trying to make my 'green sun' credible.

All right, here is my build.

Race- Half-Elf
Class-Wizard
STR- 10 (+0)
DEX-10 (+0)
CON-11 (+0)
INT-15 (+3)
WIS-12 (+1)
CHA-14 (+4)

For being a half elf, she gets a +2 to CHA and an extra point of my choosing, so I put it in INT which made it a +3

The racial adjustments apply to the ability score it self, not the modifier
this would bring you to 16 int (with a +3 modifier) and 16 charisma, (with a + 3 modifier).

Yeah, I see what I did. I was getting confused.

STR-10 (+0)
DEX-11 (+0)
CON-11 (+0)
INT-16 (+3)
WIS-12 (+1)
CHA-16 (+3)

Understandable, a lot of people get confused with the modifier system.

Okay, so my HP would be 11, if I'm not mistaken. I get 8 for being a cleric, then +2 for my CON and another +1 for being a hill dwarf. Likewise, Horizon would start with 6 HP for being a wizard and having no CON modifier.

And my movement is 25 (even if wearing heavy armor), and Horizon's is 30.

And both of us have a proficiency bonus of +2. Correct?

Correct. Next is skill selection and background choices.

My background is Acolyte. So I get proficiencies in Insight and Religion. For my other two, I choose Medicine and Persuasion.

Because I'm a dwarf, I can speak Common and Dwarven. And because I'm an Acolyte, I get two more...so I'll go with Celestial and Elvish.
