Since you passed and are not surprised, she realizes what it is as it is happening... the song is like the Lethargy (slow spell) that Wolfweres can create (like Jackques at the farm).

Her initiative was good, but whomever this is got
[1d10]=1, +3 ability=> total init 4.

She knows how deadly this can be, and if she wants to try something she knows is fast (like dagger init 2, or a spell or something faster) she can go for it, (or try to pass her save vs spell) and go later in the round with something else.

Bard talent to counter musical magic would be an ability init 3. She could stop it, if she doesn't succumb to it herself (since her action to counter would come after the enemy)

The trick is, she can't see the performer yet, so targeting spells (like magic missile) would require her to move closer (and farther into the brush) in the hopes that she would have line-of sight to the target.

Of course area things like web don't need targets, but are much slower.

Oh, don't think I renewed her spells, says the armor spell was used when I never refreshed it (she last used it to protect Tarlyn) she would keep it just to protect herself if needed.

AHH I was guessing. She is trying to get the others away so she can web the thing, I am assuming we are still within the bushes somewhat, as it just burst out of them, so she should be able to use the bushes to secure it. If Gregor gets the hell out of the way,
