And that wraps up the second chapter, "End of the Road." Basically it was meant to introduce the PCs to how combat works.

The battle went on pretty long. I'm not sure if that's normal for this game or if it was because we were all new and still learning the ropes. But maybe being long was a good thing; it gave us lots of time to figure stuff out, like the stunting system, how to utilize minor and major actions, and how important it is to keep an eye on the map and the placement of enemies and allies. Still, you all survived with minimal injury, so that's something. I've heard stories of parties wiping out on this encounter.

The next chapter is focused on puzzle solving. How can the party cross the bridgeless chasm? Come up with any ideas you want, and I'll tell you what sort of tests you need to pass to pull them off. Be creative!

I hope you three are enjoying things so far. If you have any questions or feedback, just let me know.

does preparing the tree come before cutting it down? I'm slightly confused

I'm not sure if it matters. The module isn't very clear on what 'preparing' the tree even entails. I assume it means cutting off some of the branches and stuff.

I see. Well Davne will have a go at chopping the tree down with one of the axes once invisible castle is back up.
Then they can do the DEX check to prepare it into a suitable bridge

Actually, the STR check is more for moving the tree and making sure you set it across the ravine without dropping it in by accident. No check is needed just to chop it down.

Oh I see! In that case, surely Simone is best for preparing the tree then with her DEX of 3

And that wraps up the third chapter, "Crossing the Chasm." It was something of a little puzzle-solving for the party in a non-combat situation.

There were a number of possible ways to get across the ravine, including the one Wallace thought up. Other alternatives were to have someone take a rope and try and jump across, then tie it off (extremely dangerous) or climb down the gorge and then back up the other side (difficult and very time consuming).

The next chapter involves a bit of roleplaying, so have fun with that.

Again, as usual, if there is any feedback, questions, etc., just let me know.

Hi, guys. I just wanted to let you know, there is something wrong with my computer. I suspect it's a virus of some kind. Whatever it is, it's giving me a massive slowdown. At times my computer is outright inoperative. At other times, it's so slow it can take me up to an hour or more to just post a simple message.

Long story short, my posts may be arriving much slower than normal. I might even have to skip a day or two, depending on how it's acting; at least until I can figure out how to fix it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

And that wraps up the fourth chapter, "Wishful Thinking." That puts us half-way through the adventure. I speculated this module would take about 4 months to complete, and it's been around two months or so. Therefore, assuming the last four chapters take another two months, I'll have been right.

Any thoughts so far? Feedback, questions, comments? Let me know.

I like it, it's a pretty good introductory module by my reckoning

And that concludes the fifth chapter, "Strike After Dust." You all did well. I've heard stories of more than a few parties that were wiped out by this encounter.

Tomorrow, I'll begin the next chapter as we start to head toward the big finale.
