Rescue Silifrey Hornraven

Silifey Hornraven is tall and slender. She possesses the high cheekbones and fine skintone common to the Marshrovers with hazel eyes and raven black hair.

"You will not be able to take Silifrey from where she is kept in Skullport. It would take a small army to achieve that task. Recently, she has been assigned as an escort to certain minor nobles and merchants, to catch the eye of more desirable prey. For the festival of Lliira's Night, an hour before dinnertime this evening Silifey will be escorted to the estate of Chostal Nandar, by a small group dressed as a personal escort and hand maidens. She and a handmaiden are to accompany Chostal and his younger brother Horingar “Elfslayer” Nandar. Chostal, a formerly distant member, is recently ascended to head of House Nandar and their construction businesses. The brutish brothers hope their refined and lovely escorts will earn them points with the more established nobility. By the end of the evening’s events, they will most likely insist the girls to completely fulfill their roles as consorts. However, the girls have been instructed to attempt to catch the notice of young half-elf Corin Dezlentyr, heir to the Dezlentyr trade and shipping empire. The hope is that Corin’s dislike of the brutish Nandars will compel him to insult the pair once again by stealing away their more refined female companions. Once in his care, they are to do whatever it takes to gain influence.

Your problems will be a small group assigned to keep an eye on her. They will be stealthy and inconspicuous. Then undoubtedly the Nandars will have a bodyguard or protection of some type, that may challenge you. Last, the city guard will be out in full force to police the revelry and may come upon you at the worst point of time. I do not know where they will begin their revelries, but they will finish with the other nobles at the Cynosure Ball."

Hugh hints that the method by which the girls are being controlled can cause permanent mental or emotional damage.

Rescue Abducted Elves

Elves particularily those of House Ealoeth have been abducted over the last 300 to 400 years, including Vestele 28 years ago near Everska and Sinistra 5 years ago in Calisham. There appears to be a recent upswing in the activity. May be connected to similar abductions of humans with Netherese heritage.

Vestele Ealoeth, mother of Sinistrad disappeared recently upon arriving in Waterdeep.

Members of the Danicen family sister House to House Ealoeth have been recently abducted.

"When we arrived in Waterdeep our other guard Jason Sanguis took his leave, but I quickly located a replacement a fellow elf, Namhias. The family had expressed their wish to do some sightseeing while in the City of Splendors. So after storing their wares and procuring room and board, we set off for Castle Ward with the children in tow.... We had not traveled far when a band of men brazenly pounced upon us from an alleyway dragging the children into the shadows of its interior. Before we could stop them, the parents chased after leaving Namhias and I to face the remaining villains. I was able to subdue two of my opponents, and Namhias showed surprising resilence. But then the ones who had drug off the children returned to aid their breathen and we were overwhelmed. From the ground, I saw Namhias fall when a follower of Malar cast his magics upon him. After that I was bound and hooded, until we were marched into a room like cattle. The follower of Malar and a dark clad man called the "Hand" had words about me. Namhias and the family had jewelry placed upon them and their will left them....They only wanted the pure Ar-tel-quessir, even the children. Once they realized my father was a N-Tel-Quess, they left me to be disposed of like garbage along with all of the possessions, but the men left to that task had other ideas."

"His name is Jason Sanguis. I thought it odd that he left so quickly after making an effort to be hired on at the start of the travels. It will not be hard to identify him.... He is half-drow and for all appearances resembles an albino. He has a "Z" shaped mark high on his left arm that he goes to great pains to keep covered."

Investigate and find Ag High Priest of Torm

"I find it most disturbing that Ag has in his possession a spell capable of performing the so called "accident" that befell his wild mage ally Sinistrad... An event that also has the consequence of perhaps creating a mortal vessel for some type of infernal fiend... Where is Ag now? He has much to answer!"

Records mention Ag in Waterdeep beginning around late 1365. A member of one the adventuring groups that actually had some success in Undermountain. Ag’s clerical abilities and sizable revenue stream allowed for his rapid advancement within the city’s church of Torm. A decent portion of Ag’s income goes directly into the church coffers. He keeps a small stipend for himself, and the rest is split amongst the monastery and an orphanage for the children of fallen Undermountain adventurers. Ag enjoys a decent income from his stake in an importing and exporting business handling goods to and from the Chultian peninsula. Other stake-holders being Vestele Ealoeth, Aedh Sydan, and heirs of two others listed as deceased. Early mention of Ag refers to questionable companions, a dangerous wild mage, and a suspected thief and murderer. More recently, claims of fraternization with escorts and women of ill-repute seem to have been buried.

The desk is clear of papers however the half open drawer reveals some parchments that appear to be recent entries in a journal....

"Could I have truly made such a horrible mistake and imprisoned an innocent woman for all this time? Everything indicated that the "Corrupter" and her brother had returned from the infernal realms once more. If not, then her daughter the original ancient Vestele Ealoeth had at least returned..... I had no reason to believe her tales claiming to be Sinistrad's mother were anything more than the clever deceptions of a fiend straight from the abyss. Now this Kata and Kadrian arrive telling the tale of a missing Vestele. My course is clear. I must ready myself and go open the cage to know for sure."

Partial plans for the Temple of Torm show a hidden passage leading to a hidden room below the sub-levels.

Ag has not returned.

Investigate Sinistrad, Sinistra, and Vestele

The two parchments are written in a version of elven and draconic.

The first: Is descriptions of a powerful spell created in ancient times to combat the Daemonfey when they first emerged. The spell could either be cast by a group of epic spell casters or a group of normal spell casters could tap into a powerful item or mythal to draw the power necessary to operate the spell. The spell separated a half-demon into a full blooded elf and a full blooded demon. The two new beings took the gender and likeness of the respective parent and were each slightly weaker than the original half-demon. The spell also separated those with demon lineage but not half demons into two beings of the same gender with the strongest blood being the stronger proportionately..... Notations suggest that the spell could be modified easily to apply to other half-types and mixed blooded humanoids.....

The second: Details the story of House Ealoeth. A house that also experimented with breeding with fiends during the heyday of House Dlardrageth. House Ealoeth fell out of favor with the other daemonfey do to their willingness to experiment with more than just demon breeding. The leader of the tainted branch of the house is an ancient half-fiend named Vestele. For some reason, each generation has a child born in her likeness who is traditionally named Vestele. Speculations were made that the "Vesteles" over the centuries served as part time vessels for the spirit of House Ealoeth's demon matriarch, when it was not on this plane of existence....

First mention of Sinistrad is shortly after his party settled in Waterdeep. During an excursion into the infamous “Blue Alley,” they rescued the archmage Keilier's former girlfriend, Nallana, from a magical prison.

Numerous magical mishaps and wild surges accompanied him, bringing him to the attention of the authorities of Waterdeep.

During this time Sinistrad and the others set up their transport company, dealing almost exclusively with the Dezlentyr shipping fleet.

Sinistrad was victim to a gender-changing wild surge while adventuring in Undermountain in 1367 DR. The wild surge had an unusual effect on the half-elven Sinistrad. She found herself transformed not only into a female, but a full-blooded sun elf as well.... Unconfirmed reports claimed that a spell-blasted human male wearing tattered wizards garb, exitted Undermountain shortly after Sinistrad’s party carried the now female Sinistra out.....Shortly afterwards tales of Sinistra entering and exitting the Blue Alley in various states of dress and undress begin circulating......On the same day it is noted that a group of Eldreth Veluuthra elf supremacists is found slaughtered in the dock ward.

With the Lords becoming concerned with the increase in magical mishaps, Sinistra chose self-exile until the time she could prove her control had improved.

Three years later, Vestele Ealoeth arrives and takes over Sinistra’s estate and affairs claiming Sinistra now deceased.

Vestele quickly entrenches herself in Waterhavian society. Becoming quite popular with the single male members of the nobility.

Sally made notes near the end: "Someone has researched Vestele's records previously. For what purpose? Has something been taken?"

Investigate Sally Windborn's disappearance

Sally's last note make no sense what so ever.

"I smelled Namhias' scent with the half-elf girl prisoner, and she spoke his name. What have they done to him?"

The tall man attentions are initially still focused on the half-elf... "I could not help but overhear her ramblings. She must be reeking of wine and ale to be so far gone"..... He pauses and takes a deep sniff as a surprised look flashes across his face..... "Hopefully your friend will sober up and regain her wits soon".... His attentions turn to Sally standing before him, ignoring Turic and the half-elf completely.... "You are not a follower of Torm, child? Odd company for one so young as you to be keeping, I would say..... My apologies. Dar Hoon of Mintar at your service.... Anyway, do not let me delay you any longer, you should get your friend to the temple." The man turns and begins to walk away.

Your girl Sally had a visitor just prior to her disappearance named Dar Hoon. He departed the city early this morning, though not before one of my men joined the caravan.

Clear Thavin's name

The Hammerlord's stern facade gives pause at Vrunar's question, showing the weariness of one bearing the weight and worries of the masses upon his shoulders... "Alas, I fear that will not be possible. It appears Thavin has fallen victim to the hidden forces which struck down his family and framed him for the vile act. Worse yet, the "Mark of Justice" placed upon him cares not for death. In two years time his soul will be forever cursed by Tyr, for failing to clear his name of his family's murder in Neverwinter." Hykros pauses for a time while lighting a candle and offering a silent prayer for the souls of Thavin and his family.

Assist Kean

There is not much time. The Gaunts have pursued me here to Waterdeep and now all is at risk. I must lead them elsewhere. Alicia went to Neverwinter and Isa to Scornubel. I must warn them that the Gaunts pursue us.

Investigate Kata Amblecrown's disappearance

"They went to scout out the Cynosure and the estates of House Dezlentyr and House Nandar, while the rest of us went to deal with Hugh the Hand's men. They were supposed to return here and advise us on potential scenarios to free Silifrey Hornraven and the other enslaved escort on Lliira's Night." Turic ponders for a moment. "That is all that we really know about either of the two. Kata is a follower of Sharess and her family name is Amblecrown I believe. An interesting name though quite common, there is a line of Amblecrowns who can trace their lineage back to the ancient Netheril. With those bearing strong Netherese bloodlines being abducted, Kata may well have walked into the dragons mouth unknowingly."

Investigate Kadrian's disappearance

"A wild elf from the Chultian Peninsula, whom we just recently met. He and Kata traveled with Vestele Ealoeth for a time while she was searching for her missing son. Kadrian journeyed here to assist Kata in locating Vestele when she disappeared after arriving in Waterdeep. They went to scout out the Cynosure and the estates of House Dezlentyr and House Nandar, while the rest of us went to deal with Hugh the Hand's men. They were supposed to return here and advise us on potential scenarios to free Silifrey Hornraven and the other enslaved escort on Lliira's Night. We can only assume that this is the blood of Kata's long term companion, Kadrian the wild elf, upon the carpet. But why would he have been slain or taken? it seems odd to go to the trouble of replacing her with an impostor, then remove her closest ally and confidant form our midst.'

Investigate and stop the Fey'ri

She is of the Fey'ri, a race born from the Tel-quessir, the true elves such as myself and Demons of the lower planes.." She turns to look at the group.

"What I am about to say is little known, kept quiet fo thousands of years. The sun elves of House Dlardrageth (in what is now the forest of Cormanthor) secretly bred with succubi to strengthen their bloodline. It was thought that most were killed.. I believe they are trying once more.." She looks down at Kata, the rapier in her other hand brushing her skin. "I think she is one of them."

"Ealoeth! Faelar Ealoeth! First born of Vestele! Scion of House Ealoeth"
