Baeros looks at the others leaving and follows. "Our way of live is full with dangers. We did the right thing trying to save the older dog. Indeed it is pity she didn't made it, and that Andar and myself got bitten..."

Takit approaches the puppy and sniffs at him a bit, then snuffs and walks away. The puppy doesn't seem to pay him any mind.

The party returns to the campsite, the puppy following them. They have no food, but their minds are consumed with whether their companions will live or die. They won't have to wait long, but somehow it feels like days.

Andar sits down on his bedroll and waits, Areilon by his side. Baeros sits down near the fire, Takit and the puppy keeping him company. Ten minutes pass...then twenty, then thirty. Time seems to slow to a crawl, and yet at the same time, it feels like there isn't enough. Forty minutes...fifty. An hour. Night has fallen completely and yet still, noting happens. It seems they are going to be okay. Surely the poison would have reached their hearts by now.

==========

Baeros saves vs. poison [13] (1d20): 14, pass.
Andar saves vs. poison [14] (1d20+2): 15, pass.

(OOC: Andar's base roll was a 13. Meaning were it not for Jocelyn's aid, he would have died. That +2 made all the difference.)

After the long wait, Ouragana stands up and stretches. With a broad smile to Andar and Bearos, she says "Well it looks like you're going to be with us for another while.
What do we do next? Try to get a few miles closer to Tu'valie?"

"We should get some rest, and continue with the journey tomorrow," Jocelyn says as she curls up near the fire.

Baeros steps from the fire to his packs and grunts, "Indeed we need sleep. I'm very happy we didn't die of the poison, but we are still badly hurt. If you don't mind I will take tonight the last shift, thus I will be able to use it to prepare myself for the hunt and be on my way sooner than usual." with that he lies on the ground and tries to sleep but he finds it somewhat difficult as the feeling of failure fills him. 'We couldn't save that poor dog... We were beaten hard by mosquito, then by a single ettercap... I'm useless...', oddly enough this repeating mantra of being useless makes him relax and eventually fall asleep.

Ouragana kind of deflates when everybody else settles down. "Okay" she says softly. "Who wants protection from small bugs this night? I can do thatn during first watch" she offers. ~Next time I go studying, I should learn about edible plants and such. It's hard to sleep on an empty stomach~ she thinks to herself when she crawls into her bedroll after her watch.

The party agrees to get some rest. They've traveled for 10 hours and had a nearly lethal battle, and all with no food. They just don't have the energy to keep going, even if there was any sunlight left.

Jocelyn and Andar take first watch, as usual, while the others bed down for the night. The puppy sticks close to Baeros.

"Pastor," Andar says, poking at the fire with a stick to keep it going. "I wish to thank you. You may have saved my life once again tonight."

Jocelyn looks to Andar as she was hugging her knees as she watched the fire and listened for any sound of trouble. "You're welcome," she says softly, as she doesn't want to wake the others. "Though, I wish I could have made the antidote so that no one would be put on edge about the whole situation," she says. "Besides, it is the least I can do. You guys are actively trying to save my life, or at least I know that you are."

As Baeros settles himself to sleep he sees the small pup comes close. "Hey Takit, come here. It seems we have a new friend." and he rubs both dogs' heads. "Now let's gets some sleep, and tomorrow you will have plenty of time to play together."
