CH. 4: Temple of Baerin

"Ummmmm...what that mean for us, then?" asks Keet, scratching his chin.

[HorizonsDream]

"It means, for me that I need to go home," Echo says. "My mother needs some of the money I made. For you, I guess that means you can go home if you want. I guess you could always follow me around too," she adds. "I plan on going to Perth."

[JadedDM]

Hollidan returns to them. "Well, the pharise is quiet pleased. We didn't explore the entire temple, though, so we'll need to make sure it's safe before anything else, but really, the hard part is now over."

[HorizonsDream]

Echo looks up to Hollidan. "There were just one or two doors that we didn't go through," she says. "That one that we couldn't get through, and I think one more before we found the shield. I'm out of spells, and you're still hurt, thanks to me," Echo adds, furrowing her brow a little bit.

[JadedDM]

"It's fine," Hollidan says. "Drax is going to take care of it, with his own group. You, on the other hand, have quite a bit of stuff to write down. The Pharise wants the entire thing recorded, right?"

[HorizonsDream]

"Oh right," Echo says with a smirk. "That was what I was actually hired for. I hope he has the supplies needed for writing, and you wouldn't know of a quiet place for me to do my work would you?" she asks, glancing up at Hollidan.

"I'm sure something can be set up," Hollidan replies. "It's a big temple, after all."

[HorizonsDream]

"I guess I had better get started then," Echo says as she stands from where she is sitting. "Where is the Pharise?"

[JadedDM]

"In the center of the room, speaking with Drax," Hollidan replies.

[HorizonsDream]

Echo nods and starts to walk off, but she pauses. "Hey, um, I really am sorry," she says without looking at him. She was ashamed, and she didn't want him to see it.

[JadedDM]

The Pharise finds Echo shortly after.

"Ah, there you are. I need to dictate a few letters right off. And of course, everything must be recorded for prosperity--start from the beginning. You'll have your work cut out for your over the next few weeks, to be sure," he says.

[HorizonsDream]

"Provide the quill, ink and parchment, and I'm here for you," Echo says.

[JadedDM]

"Provide the...are you serious? I hired you as a scribe, and you didn't bring any parchment or ink?" The pharise looks at her incredulously. "Did you believe Hollidan didn't supply his own sword, or that the clerics expected me to give them robes and holy icons? Outrageous. Very well, I will find someone in this group who has parchment, quill and ink for you to use."

[HorizonsDream]

"Wait," Echo says. She takes a moment to think about the supplies she brought with her. "I just need a quill. I have ink and parchment. It has been a long few days. It slipped my mind that I had them."

The pharise manages to acquire a quill for Echo to use, then sends her off to do her job.
