Only the stairs go on. The secret doors only give access to the chambers with the mechanism you have not yet identified.

Right now, it seems we're kind of stuck because no one takes the lead. Jen doesn't want to do it becasue it would be out of character for Eloise, and Stik doesn's want Christopher to become dominant or overwhelming (as has happened somehow with Marin in Saltmarsh). NoTrammeling wants to retreat a bit because he's too busy, so we've agreed to let Matthias stay in the herb garden for now.

The characters have gleaned all there was from the ground floor of the palas, so on Monday I will simply assumed you're ambling up the stairs

Sorry for disappearing. The Christmas season is murder when working retail. Now that it's over I should have a bit more time to post. That said, it seems like the thieves are scouting ahead of the group, so there's not much for the rest of us to do at the moment.
