Liri touches her cheek gently. "You will get used to it. It can make you braver, but also foolhardy. It is part of life."
She smiles. "However, these feelings should not distract us from the work to be done. Let us go back and see what we can find in these caverns. Papa said there was some magic, didn't he?" With her head cocked, she turns and slowly walks back to the rest of the group.

Giving Praesul a tight hug she kisses his neck and turns to rejoin the group.

"I believe they will suffice, I will keep an eye on them..." She draws on her drink slowly enjoying the taste. "I believe Wheels returned your Strongbox? I ask to ensure you have the money for the journey ahead."

"All that aside, I am but a warrior, I fight where you tell me, but something has me troubled.." She lets out a little laugh. "Well most of it has me troubled, but the body... it came from somewhere. A portal perhaps? That thing we found in the cave.. was that another? Perhaps the body was a trial to come here from elsewhere?"

"Yes, my strongbox has been returned. Broken, and perhaps a bit lighter than when it was lost, as is to be expected. But it was returned."
For a moment, Fraso looks thoughtful, and a bit uncertain of himself, then makes a decision to continue. "As long as we are being honest, Gallius, this journey has already taken longer than initially anticipated. The funds I had received from Baron Diotus, while sufficient to pay your back wages, will barely get us to the capital. I can certainly afford to supplement our company somewhat, but by no more than three mercenaries.

"As to your concerns, I can say with a fair degree of certainty that our odd elf-like pursuers were not working in concert with the creatures associated with the portal; nor did they come from the same place. As to how the decedent came to be in our world, and where he came from from...there are many ways to get from place to place that do not involve traveling. And I have been given to understand the world holds more places than space, strictly speaking, permits. Worlds within worlds, and atop and beneath and next to, and even through others."

"This has become less about a job, and more about finding a resolution.." She sighs, "As long as I have food, Praesul is fed, and I have somewhere to sleep, I will be happy, you can arrange my back pay when we get to safety." She gives Fraso a grin. "I have found other things on this trip, so In a way, I have you to thank for that."

"Things you speak of, they are beyond one such as me, worlds within worlds..." She coughs, "I couldnt even imagine such a thing."

"So we travel to the Capital, will you arrange a cart, or perhaps mounts? Praesul will take Salia with no argument, but you are a Gentleman, you should travel in some form of comfort."

"I have already requested a cart from Viletti. The commander was quite generous. When I asked him during a conversation we were having during and after dinner last night, he said something about how he would 'gladly do anything that will speed you on your way.' Such a courteous man, for a former legionnaire. So we shall have a cart. And we will not be as weighted down this trip as we were days ago, as we will not be carrying our prize."

"He is as gracious as appearances allow, but he doesn't want us here." She agrees. "Thank you for speaking candidly with me..." She smiles, and looks back at the others. "I will ensure they are ready to leave when the need arises."

Angel rises to her feet and motions over to the table occupied by the others. "My Lord." She bows and moves slowly behind Liri.
