Like a rider who clambers back on the horse after a fall, Ouragana tries the cantrip again to thicken the grease in the spider's joints.

Before anyone else can even act, Areilon stabs her stiletto into the creature's eye, shattering it. When she withdraws it, the needle-like blade is covered in black oil. The mechanical creature collapses and moves no more.

A few moments later, the party hears approaching heavy footsteps. Brock, in his long johns, arrives at the open doorway, carrying a large club. The waiter is right behind him, also in his pajamas, carrying only a candlestick. Both stop and look with surprise at the damage and the destroyed spiders.

"What in the lowest level of the Abyss?!" the dwarf says, wide-eyed.
