"By the way, this is yours," Hollidan says, handing her a couple of gems and coins. "We decided after the near-theft last night to split it up now, instead of waiting until payday. The coin was split six ways, a share going to each of us, plus a share toward the pilgrims and another share toward the families of the dead. Although Gimog, Nuvain and I gave most of ours back to the pilgrims or to the dead anyway. The sword went to the captain; it will do the most good in his hands."

Echo receives a jade gemstone (worth 50 GP), a garnet gemstone (worth 100 GP) and 190 gold pieces.

Echo takes the gems and coins, looking them over. She's never had that much money in her life, so she seems a little unsure what to do with it. "Thank you," she says. "Though, I think you should have kept the sword," she adds.

Hollidan shrugs. "I'm the rookie, he's the captain. It makes better sense. Anyway, let's get this tent packed up and get back on the road--so to speak. The Guardian Mountains await."

"It's going to be much colder up there," Echo says with an annoyed sigh. "Come on, Keet," she adds to the kobold as she moves in to help Hollidan pack up his tent. It was probably best to keep Keet within her line of vision.
