CH 2: The Search for More Money

[Jenara]

Making a mental note to visit the lighthouse, Arei wanders slowly back to the Inn.

[xelphyn]

"Oh, of course, this is Pearl, she's been answering some questions I had about the murders going around." Dahn answers.

[Breila]

"That is good, because we didn't learn much from the place where the bodies were found" Ouragana says with a fond smile at Pearl.

[Nuke]

"Me neither" adds Val

"And hello Pearl, Me Val" giving the woman a curt nod of her head.

[JadedDM]

Pearl's eyes dart between the two women as they sit down. "Who are they? Your wives?" she asks, her voice starting to rise in panic. "Nothing happened, I swear. We just had lunch. He insisted on paying! I had nothing to do with it!" she cries, leaping to her feet and knocking her chair over. This commotion draws quite a bit attention from the other patrons.

[Breila]

"Don't be frightened, young lady" Ouragana says in her most friendly voice, but loud enough to hear for the other patrons. "We are not his wives, not at all. We just have been travelling together for a few days. You have nothing at all to fear from us."

[JadedDM]

"Oh, I see," Pearl says. After an awkward silence, she picks up her chair. Despite Ouragana's reassurances, she still seems rather guarded around the women. "Well, uh, I better get back to work if I'm ever going to be able to afford to get off this rock. Nice meeting you all. Thanks for the lunch, Grey."

[Breila]

After Pearl has left, Ouragana pulls out her chair and sits down. "Strange fears she has" she comments. "Now, did she know anything useful. Grey?"

[Nuke]

Val has seen it before, it was her, no loss. She waits for her drink and listens to the investigation talk.

[JadedDM]

Dahn shakes his head. "Nothing special, mostly just rumors," he says.

[Breila]

"Well, then, looks like we're at a dead end there right now" Ouragana says with a little sigh. "I think I will go out for a little, get some fresh air before I have dinner and turn in."

She goes out and chooses streets that will bring her out of town quickly, her main objective is to find a place where she can practise her Jump spell without attracting attention. Of course, she will keep eyes and ears open, be it only for her own safety.

[xelphyn]

Dahn hops out of his seat."Ouragana,wait. Maybe now you have time to compare philosophies on the theories of magic?"

[Nuke]

Val retreats to her room to shed most of her belongings. She exits the inn with a trident and heads to the beach for a swim.

[Breila]

Ouragana turns back to Dahn in surprise. "I do have time now, yes. But I really want to go out. So if you want to talk, why don't you join me?"

[xelphyn]

Dahn hurries to the mage.
"So what's it like? The academy?"
