Riverwind curses as the wyvern is out of range, but quickly chances targets once aging, selecting Draco #4.

Goldmoon curses and, her staff raised, taunts the kapak standing over Tas. "Come here, there is no honor in killing a midget like that!" she shouts. She hopes to draw the kapak away from Tas, so that the elves or Riverwind can shoot at him and no one will be hurt if it dissolves to acid. She moves only slowly forward to engage him with her staff if he comes towards her.

"Tanis!" Laurana shouts loudly, bow still drawn she turns to Tika. "Help me move Tas, we need to get him away from those things before he is killed!" Keeping her bow readied she moves towards the fallen Kender. "Magpie!"

Magpie looks at the devastation around her, the Elves were dying, people had been taken. But the creatures were dying. Running along with Laurana she thinks of drawing the sword, but instead she stays behind, dragging the Kender if she can.

Sturm pauses for a moment, attacking an unarmed foe was against the code, but these creatures still had claws... He strikes the creature with his pommel, hoping to knock it down.

Tika finally pulls out her skillet, and moves to the kapak that took out Tas. She tries to keep behind him as she uses the skillet to hopefully knock the draconian out.

While Laurana and Magpie hurry over to the bleeding kender and grab him, the kapak that just took him down goes for Goldmoon. However, he trips on his own tail and drops his sword in the process. As he fumbles to pick it up, he gets smacked pretty hard in the head by Goldmoon and is completely unaware that Tika is sneaking up behind him, her skillet at the ready.

The other kapak, meanwhile, picks up his sword just before Sturm slams the pommel of Brightblade into his face. Although meant as a non-lethal attack, the draconian was so wounded by that point that it finished him off anyway. He melts into acid and burns Sturm badly in the process.

Riverwind and the female elf warrior both target the last draconian together, firing arrows. Both arrows hit before the kapak can retrieve his sword, slaying it. Luckily, Tika and Goldmoon are able to avoid most of the acid, but both still suffer minor burns.

Moments later, a squad of elven warriors arrive on the scene with Porthios in the lead. "What in the Abyss?" he asks, and his eyes are immediately drawn to the last surviving draconian, snoozing lightly in the grass. "Tend to the wounded, and have that thing tied up immediately," he orders his men.

Turning to the party, he says, "What on Krynn happened here?"

Tika moves 70 feet, but cannot make an attack this round.
Goldmoon attacks Kapak 04 with her quarterstaff (1d20): 19, hit for (1d6): 5 damage.
Elf 03 fires a sheaf arrow from his short bow at Kapak 02 (1d20+1): 7, miss.
Kapak 02 picks up his short sword.
Sturm makes a non-lethal attack with Brightblade against Kapak 02 (1d20+1): 18, hit for (1d10+6): 10 damage (half temporary). Kapak 02 melts into a puddle of acid.

(OOC: Unfortunately, Kapak 02 only had 2 HP left, so even 5 real damage was enough to kill it. Sorry, Jerrard.)

"Well, Son of a Bitch. How did they get away."

Disregarding her and Tika's burns for the moment, Goldmoon runs over to Tas and implores Mishakal's help to save him (cure moderate wounds),
11 HP restored.

In the next round(s), she will help treat the wounded with her healing/herbalism skills first, and assess who else might need divine help.

The burst of positive energy into Tas' small, broken body immediately stops the bleeding and restores him to consciousness. For the second time in as many days, he is left extremely fatigued and weakened, barely able to get up under his own power.

She then begins tending to everyone else with her herbs and bandages, while Porthios awaits an explanation from someone on what just happened.

Realising Sturm is so severely wounded he is barely able to stand, Goldmoon asks for Mishakal's grace in healing him, too.

The worst of that most recent acid burn Sturm took is healed at Goldmoon's touch.

Riverwind's vague explanation doesn't seem to satisfy Porthios. The two elves who survived the battle, however, report in with some more detail.

Bowing, the male says, "My lord. It was a wyvern. It flew in, and dropped a small group of dragonmen in to the grove. Two of us fell in the battle."

Porthios frowns. "A wyvern? For what reason? Surely they didn't expect to inflict significant causalities with such a small group. Perhaps this was meant more as a morale attack, to make us feel vulnerable."

Shaking his head, Porthios issues orders to his men. "Gather the dead. I'll inform their families myself."

Goldmoon casts Cure Light Wounds on Sturm, restoring (1d8): 6 HP.

"They took Tanis, and Gilthanas, I fear they were trying to do exactly that, to hit Morale." Sturm sheaves Brightblade, able to move now he moves closer to Porthios, "We will help where we can, although I believe we should press on with our task as soon as possible."

"Thank you my Lady." He bows to Goldmoon, "And thanks to Paladine."

"Riverwind, could you aid Tas? Laurana, help the Elves, please? Magpie. Ahhhh, help Laurana." Smiling at Tika he gives a little nod. "Watch Caramon till he wakes please."

"Gilthanas?" asks Porthios, alarmed. "Are you certain?" He looks up into the night sky, as if to search for him, but of course, the wyvern is long gone. "This is a tragic day for our people then. But there is nothing we can do. You are right, Solamnic, we must press on. I will double the watch on the grove, just in case. Rest tonight, and move on to your mission tomorrow."

[Nuke]

"Of course." Riverwind moves to make Tas comfortable as possible so he can rest, and perhaps sleep a little.

After that task is done, he finds Goldmoon, and grasps her in his arms, hugging her tightly for a long while. "You can do it, we must press on."
