FC1 - CH 1: Welcome to Sturnheim

"Protection? Ya want me to help ya?" He seems taken back, having never been asked for help before. "Err, uh...I guess? But only on two conditions. Ya gotta pay me, and...ya gotta...beat me in a fist fight. I won't work fer anyone who is weaker than me."

"You want me to fight you?" Tavi asks in surprise. "And how much do you want to be paid for this?"

Tork scratches at his chin. "I dunno...ain't making crap at fishin'. Maybe...five gold a day? Yah, that sounds good."

~So that is 13 gold between the two of them,~ Tavi thinks to herself. "Okay, I guess. I still don't really understand this fist fight thing. I've never been in a fist fight before."

"Ya ain't never been in a fight before? Ya sure 'bout that? Look pretty roughed up to me," Tork says.

[HorizonsDream]

"Well, this happened with swords and the like," Tavi admits. "But I've never actually used my fists before."

[JadedDM]

"So does that mean no?" Tork asks. "Maybe ya should rest up and heal first, else it might be too easy fer me."

[HorizonsDream]

"Maybe this will help a little," she says. Tavi pulls out another one of her healing potions and drinks it up.

Tavi downs the second potion, and this one helps her a lot more than the first. The puncture wound on her right leg heals completely and the wound on her left shoulder heals partially.

Tork grins and starts to stretch to warm up. "This ought be fun," he comments, his eyes shining in anticipation of a good brawl.

"I can't believe I'm doing this," Tavi says. She looks down at her hands, and makes tiny little fists.

Tavi took a deep breath before she took a swing at Tork with her fists. She didn't even know if there was a right way to do this or not.

Tavi throws a punch wildly at Tork. He easily sidesteps, and Tavi stumbles and drops to her knees. Not one for chivalry, Tork counter attacks while she is down. She quickly rolls to the side in time to avoid the hit.

Tavi quickly gets back up, and tries it all over again. ~This ranks up there with some of the stupidest things I've ever done,~ she thinks to herself as she throws another punch.

Tork swings again at Tavi, but she dodges. She then swings with all of her might, slamming her fist across Tork's jaw. He staggers a moment, but has taken harder blows than that and shakes it off. "Not bad," he comments, grinning. He really is enjoying this.
