CH 5: Que-Kiri and the Plains

"They were created by the Ancients, that is all I know, I believe there are Legends, but I am not sure what they are."

Riverwind could be secured to the horse's saddle, with enough rope. Otherwise, the paralyzed ranger is just as likely to fall off and get hurt.

"The dragonlances were lost to time, including how they were made," Raistlin says. "After Huma supposedly used one to drive the Dark Queen into the Abyss, dragons all but disappeared from the world. There was no further need for dragonlances, at least...not until now."

Raistlin accepts the ring, his eyes lighting up at the sight of it. "Interesting...I will examine it," he says, pocketing it. "It may have some enchantment on it. If so, I will discover it."

While Caramon ties up one of the kapaks, Tanis stands a safe distance away and puts an arrow into the neck of the other one. It dies at once, melting into a puddle of acid like the others. Unfortunately, the arrow is destroyed in the process.

Laurana gives Raistlin the onyx ring and Goldmoon the quarterstaff.
Goldmoon is now 4 pounds into light encumbrance.
Tanis performs a coup de grace on Kapak 09. Kapak 09 melts into an acid puddle.

"Couldn't someone just ride with Riverwind to keep him on the horse?" Sunstar asks curiously.

[Breila]

"This would need a skilled rider. Do we have them among us?" Goldmoon observes.

[Jerrard]

"I will 'carry' him" Sturm answers simply, transporting some of his gear to the saddle bags. (Is there anything in them by the way?)

(OOC: No, the bag is empty. And what gear does he specifically transfer over?)

[Jenara]

(The Rabbit and Aleskins, and he will tie his bedroll to the back of the saddle, Jen)

Shortly after Caramon binds he hands of the last remaining kapak, it starts to come to. The warrior backs off, and Tanis nocks an arrow. "Everyone, stay away from him," the half-elf warns.

Waking up, the draconian looks around and struggles against his bonds. He attempts to get to his feet, but Tanis shouts, "Don't move! I'll put an arrow right into your neck!" The draconians pauses and sits back down, his tail swishing behind him like an angry snake.

"Alright," Tanis continues. "Just take it easy. We have a few questions to ask you."

The draconian snorts. "Yeah, right. Yer plannin' on killin' me anyway, so why should I answer any of yer questions?"

[Jenara]

"He has a point." Laurana mumbles under her breath, drawing her own bow. "We can make it quick, or we can make it slow." She announces, standing alongside Tanis, that poor old man, these poor people.

[Jerrard]

"This creature has no honor." Sturm announces as he turns away, "Goldmoon, Raven-eye, Sunstar, will you help me see that this poor man is given a suitable send off." Sturm says as he eyes the creature, Tanis and the others had that situation under control, this was something he could do at least.

[HorizonsDream]

"Of course," Sunstar says as she walks over to the old man's body.

"Honor? Easy to chat about honor when yer not the one tied up and unarmed, berk," the draconian snarls at Sturm. Looking back to Laurana he laughs. "What's this then? Gonna torture me? An elf? Yeah, right. Ya don't have the stones. You elves are all too touchy-feely, goody-goody for that. Go ahead then," he taunts. "Cut me up a bit. Maybe shove a burning poker in one of my eyes. Or did you have something more creative in mind?"

[Breila]

Goldmoon looks up as Sturm talks to her. "Yes of course" she says. "Give me a moment to collect my thoughts, and ask Mishakal for the right words. Please go and prepare the body." She lays a hand on Riverwind's shoulder, whispers "I'll be back soon" and retreats into the shadow of the ruined house to pray for a few minutes.


(ooc: what ARE the funeral customs of the plainsfolk? Grave or pyre? Probably not leaving them on a high scaffolding for the carrion birds to eat)

[Jenara]

"Ha." Laurana laughs outwardly, "Elves have their code of Honor. I should kill you, fire this arrow and watch it piece your cowardly skin." She grins, Tanis can see her hands are shaking as she talks, trying to keep her cool.

"We could torture him, fire an arrow into him one at a time." She tries to grin.

[Jerrard]

"Pah." Sturm spits in the creature turning away, a little disturbed by the Elf Maids reaction.

"We build a Carin, that would be the most suitable."
