"Nowhere," Shay says innocently. "Meri was just showing me around the city a bit, that's all."

To Jerrard, he adds, "Congratulations. I've heard stories about the Test. If that is the kind of thing you have to go through to become a wizard, then I'm kind of glad I never really studied before."

[Jenara]

"You like it here don't you? I don't blame you, its a lovely place, a nice place to be." she rambles on, selling the City to someone who doesn't really need to be sold on the idea.

"So?" she says after at least ten minutes of rattling on. "What's next? I mean I love the city, I could make a home here, but we Kender like to travel, see new places.." she grins.

[Breila]

Babushka takes the dagger, looking dumbfounded, handling it for a moment, then putting it into one of her boot sheaths.

Suddenly, she gets up and flings her arms around what she can reach of Jerrard, beaming at him, all the unease of the last days between them forgotten. "Thank you so much, Jerrard, what a wonderful gift! What have you got for Locky?"

[Jerrard]

"Honestly my dear, I didn't think that far ahead." Jerrard responds with a smile, "Please do something for me in a moment? Draw the blade, and stand back when you do." with that he picks her up cuddling her close before putting her down.

[Jenara]

"I suppose we can stay a while." Locky adds, realising everyone had ignored her question. "Ohhh, something for me?" she asks with a grin.

[Breila]

Babushka returns the hug, then stands back as instructed, the eager look of a child that goes discovering her gift on her face.

She turns her back on the party, then, in one fluid motion, bends down to her boots and turns around, brandishing both daggers in a mock double attack, which might look comical considering she is wearing her wide, pleated, flower-printed red skirt.

The dagger that Jerrard gave her extends in size so that it's as large as a short sword. However, it maintains the weight, heft and finesse of a dagger and feels no differently in Babushka's hand.

After a moment of surprise, Babushka grins broadly, then goes to the graceful movements of a formal dual-weapon exercise, adjusting the distance from her friends to allow for the greater reach of her new weapon. It's quite a sight, this little woman, no taller than a four-year-old child, going through the positions like the experienced warrior she is, skirt and long white hair whirling about her.

After a few minutes, she comes to a halt, weapons high in the air, panting a little, beaming up at her friends, Jerrard in particular.

[Jerrard]

"I'm glad you like it my dear. I thought in the Caverns you needed a better weapon." Jerrard smooths his robes, glancing at his own blade. "Perhaps I should get a new staff? One befitting my status." He lets out an incredlous laugh.

"I can't believe not so long ago I was in the presence of the heads of the three orders. He laughs. "Wayreth Tower, I never imagined such a thing.

"Well Locky, I have no plans to move on, perhaps we can enjoy this lovely City? He glances at Merithina, "To that end, Merithina, would you like to accompany me to dinner later?" Blushing he looks down.

[Jenara]

"Oooo Can I come?" Locky asks with a cheerful expression.

[Breila]

"I have a better idea, Locky" Babushka responds before Jerrard can. "You and I can go into town and look at all the nice things again, then you could decide what you would like Jerrard to give to you." she winks at Jerrard if Locky can't see it.

[Jenara]

Ohhh That sounds like fun! Can we?" All thoughts of accompanying Jerrard gone she all but jumps up, taking Babuskhas hand.

[Breila]

Having put the two daggers into their sheaths, Babushka picks the now spare one up from the table. "Let me put this into our room and get my shawl, then we can go" she tells Locky.

She also takes a number of steel pieces to be able to pay discreetly for things Locky might "borrow".

[Jenara]

"I'll be here!" Locky grins, jumping up and down like a little kid, her silly topknot bouncing as she does so.

[Breila]

Babushka is back after a few minutes and the two girls are off.

(ooc: have we done the exchange of steel to platinum pieces yet, and bought the chest? probably not, so Babs can take a few. She will also take her silver and copper. Oh, and we should discuss how many keys we have and who keeps them.)
