"Then, my dear." Jerrard comments with a kindly smile. "You will not be alone, we shall remain with you." He grabs one of the blankets he borrowed recently, and rather painfully places it over her, before slumping down himself.

(Memorising same spells except for swapping a magic missile for detect magic)

"Ohh of course we will!" Locky smiles, running over and giving Bab a big hug, blushing because she realises she is hurting her. "Ohh sorry." Snuggling under the blanket next to the Gnome, she closes her eyes. "Thank you Fisban, without you we'd all be dead." She says the rest silently.

"Good luck then," Shay says. "Okay, Elvenoff and me up front, Ulster and Thuskar in the rear, and Merithina stay in the middle. Let's be off. When we get to town, drinks are on me."

"Now you're talking!" Ulster says.

With that, they set off, leaving Jerrard's torches as the only source of light remaining.

Only Jerrard, Babushka, Locky, Leafloam and the two horses remain.

(OOC: So how are we doing watches? Everyone is going to sleep at once, and just leaving Leafloam to be sentry the whole 8 hours?)

(Jerrard is sitting quietly, watching for a few hours, reading his book (thus memorising his spells) he'll then ask leafloam to do three, and wake up bab in three. Then locky should have rested 8 hrs. Leave Jerrard 2 more and let bab have those to sleep and then they should all be rested and ok.. )

(OOC: Okay, just keep in mind that Locky and Jerrard cannot renew their spells until after they've rested 8 hours. After the 8th hour, it will then take Locky another hour and twenty minutes to pray for her spells, and Jerrard an hour and ten minutes to rememorize his spells.)

Jerrard takes the first watch, which lasts a couple of hours. This requires him to burn through four torches, but on the bright side, he no longer feels weighed down.

Leafloam takes the second watch, which lasts three hours. He can't see in the dark well, but can't carry a torch out of fear of setting himself aflame. Luckily, nothing approaches their camp anyway.

Babushka takes the third watch, again for three hours. Once again, luck is with them, as nothing bothers the camp while she watches.

The last hour, Locky spends in prayer and Jerrard spends studying his spellbook. Nothing bothers them during this time. Jerrard burns through two more torches so he can read his book.

Third hour - no encounters
Fourth hour - no encounters
Fifth hour - no encounters
Sixth hour - no encounters
Seventh hour - no encounters
Eighth hour - no encounters
Ninth hour - no encounters

Jerrard is no longer in light encumbrance. Everyone consumes a day's worth of food and water.

Locky and Jerrard regain all spells.

Geez, that's some luck. Eighteen rolls for random encounters, and not a single one.
