"Hey - Goldilocks: Gaze upon yon corpse. See you any signs of trap sprung death upon him? Perhaps there is no trap here at all, and you are doing this hokey-pokey for naught."

"I thought you wanted me to guard the hall?" Bjarg says a little perturbed.

Esse's face drops. "I meant Martin, sorry I made a mistake! I'm trying to concentrate here!"

She leans forward onto the next tile.

*Esse steps diagonally to her right, two tiles, and lands upon a solid light blue one. Her footing is once again solid, and she is 5 tiles away from the longsword.*

*Up above her, a sound can be heard...singing? It begins to get louder; it is the NPC fairies and Sim singing a song....The Hokey Pokey. While the fairies' voices are high and tinkly, Sim's voice is very out of key.* "...and turn yourself about, that's what it's all about. Put your left foot out......"

"Oh. Well, then." Bjarg leans his spear against the doorframe, stows his club, and hefts his shield. Cautiously he steps forward onto the blue streaked tile that Esse had previously occupied.

Bei closes one eye and leans back a little bit. "....and then we see what it is all about?" He waits to see what happens as Bjarg moves up. He readies to follow in their footsteps.

Esse takes one more step forward towards the sword. [ooc]Roll 4[/ooc]

If this step gets her no further she will turn back towards the door and stop.

*Esse, focusing her attention on which tile to step upon, does not take the time to check for traps within the flooring itself. Stepping upon the dark blue starred tile, she releases a pressure plate device. A 10' x 10' solid stone block plummets from the ceiling, landing upon Esse and squashing her like the proverbial pancake. Bjarg, who had been following her route, is just missed by the block, but the impact of its strike knocks him off his feet with such force as to land him, upon his arse, by the open archway. A trickle of blood emerges from beneath the stone block.*

"Riiiiiight" Bei says and briefly wonders if there is any point in checking out the injuries. He peers around to see if there is any change of a partial limb loss with Esse being trapped on the other side. "Esse?" He calls out in a firm voice knowing that it is likely too late to save the woman.

Bjarg sits there stunned for a moment, starting at the block itself. Calmly and silently he lays his shield down in the hall outside the arch, reaches for his wineskin, drinks....most of the skin in one single draught, and then pours the remainder on the tile floor at his feet. As calmly as he began he reseals the wineskin, re-slings it across his shoulder, and returns to staring at the block.

Martin looks over at the fallen block, grunts, then says: "Never seen a red flapjack before."
Then he proceeds to walk calmly across the floor in a straight line towards the fallen paladin and his sword, watching the ceiling for any signs of instability as he does and trusting his speed, his agility, his tumbling abilities, and his fool's luck to protect him should another stone fall.

"Really?" Bei asks with a look of mild of mild disbelief on his face.

Bjarg's jaw drops as he watches Martin stride across the room.

(OOC to Stik- is Martin going towards the paladin's body, which is closer to the other archway; or the paladin's arm which is still holding the sword and underneath the stone block with Esse's body? Your post indicates that somehow the arm reattached itself to the body? Also, with your abilities, how many feet can be traveled in one round? A die roll will, most probably, still be needed, to see where exactly you have ended up at.)

[OOC] I didn't intend for Martin to specifically walk toward one or the other, just to venture out across the floor towards the general area of the fallen man.
Nor did I mean to indicate, or even to imply, that some miraculous post-mortem reassembly of our departed paladin's divided remains had occured. :)
If forced to choose a destination, however, lets make it whichever one is closer. If the distance is equal, then the sword first and the body afterwards.
In any case, Martin is has a 12" movement rate, so he's capable of covering 120' in a single round. He's not using any special abilities during his stroll, just watching carefully whilst acting carelessly. :)
